It is a more crowded weekend for around here. But you'll easily be able to find camping. We were staying above treeline last year at that point...

Here's a cruddy but beautiful sunset view at 12,000 feet..

Awe inspiring scenery right there! Almost reminds me of a great sunset I was witness to in Montana/Wyoming a few years ago

I may have to pick your brain later for camping spots near there that would have a good view of the fireworks from up and away from the crowds...

Didn't think so but thanks. I hate when people pull that shit too.

Also I don't want you guys to think that I'm afraid of doing SSOME wheeling but it is just that we will be with parents and I don't want to be doing any crazy rock crawling. Some wheeling would be most welcome!

Agreed, keeps my blood flowing. I can be camping at that spot in under an hour and a half from home. I've got some good ones I'll get in my thread some day. Very anxious for the mountains to open up a little with this long stretch into spring we've had. Soggy today so I'd think that's coming to the springs.

There's not many camping spots that allow for seeing fireworks. Unless someow you are set up to camp in someone's yard or something.
I'd more plan to make camp somewhere then you need to leave camp and establish where you want to view fireworks from. People park everywhere for the day/hours leading up to and then tailgate until dark. I've got an epic spot that I plan to get this year that is just off the shoulder of the highway. I'm glad to share what I know of the area and more off the beat camping spots. I tend to go places that don't allow for trailers, generators and such so no issue there.. I'm sure we'll be up there again.
I'm sure you were anxious to get that hat out again anyhow. That picture makes me think of that old movie Red Dawn.

I grew up in the San Isabel area. Less people down there vs right outside of Denver

Yes it's a word. There's lot in the Buena Vista area that might fit the bill. I recall camping off of Tincup in a nice spot one year. Stream nearby and fishing lake on the other side of the pass which is mild 4x4, and the Alpine Tunnel as a nearby attraction. There's also the Dunes down south, which has some dispersed camping out the north east side (though not many spots) and Medano Pass as a trail. I know there's fishing nearby in the Arkansas, but not sure about the immediate area.
I think what he's trying to say is that it's so busy that the locals don't bother trying.

Um, I don't think so. I mean sure, it may be depending on factors, but they usually have it plowed by Memorial Day. It's a big tourist attraction for the area. By the end of June/July? Pretty sure it'd be open.

Any recommendations for a tree lined off the beaten track place with a stream to fly fish in?

I finally got around to doing the 400W anytime mod today. There have been multiple times I've wanted to drive across town with a crock pot still brewing and 100W didn't cut it. 400 should do the trick

ABS, e-brake light and the other ABS light are on. Also whenever I make a sharp turn even slowly on dry pavement my ABS will engage and start beeping. Any ideas?

My coworker was having similar symptoms on a 4Runner and it turned out to be a bad wheel speed sensor.

Could easily be.... My tpms pressure sensors are fudged too. Have been for a while. Wonder if that has anything to do with it or if it might be combined with the same sensor

shouldn't have anything to do with tpms...

I would try a yaw sensor reset
    Here is the procedure.

Skip to step 5 and SST just means a piece of wire :p
