I own a 2004 pre runner with a stock steering wheel. I have owned it for about 10 years and have loved it. My only gripe is the stock steering wheel has always felt slippery to me. My wife has a stock 2001 4runner and that steering wheel feels fine. I like to be able to steer with my palm and never felt like I could with my stock steering wheel. I don't want to change steering wheels so I have wrapped the wheel with tacky tennis racket tape. My question is , is there any kind of steering wheel cover or any other solution to this problem of mine that you could help me with. The black steering wheel is my wife's 4 runner and the gray one is my tacoma with the tac rap . Thanks ReyP1260099.jpg P1260101.jpg

I had a pretty cheap Walmart steering wheel cover that was just black nylon, like Cordura. It was super grippy and probably $15 when I bought it.

I use Giro full-finger bike gloves on both my Tacoma and Audi A3...The bike gloves are lightweight, and have a nice, tacky grip surface. Very comfortable to drive with, and the grip is awesome.

Yes there's wheelskins, instantly changed the way I felt the grip of the wheel. You get a more thick feel to it.

I put the 4-Runner black leather steering wheel and airbag on my 02 Pre-runner. Yes it fits and the Tacoma sensor interfaces with the 4-Runner air bag. BTW, the air bag for both units are slightly different and are not interchangable.

Where did you get your wheel skin from? Looks like you might have a few Penny's in your interior?

You said if made the steering wheel feel thicker but how about making it feel more tacky or grippy. That is what I am looking for. Thanks for the response

Wheelskins.com or something like that. Yeah I've put a good amount into the interior.
Definitely a night and day when it comes to grip, it is genuine leather and you can have options to put perforation. I might as well be driving a bmw.

The issue with leather is the oil in your hands eventually makes the leather fairly slick. My Audi wheel has perforations at 9 and 3, which are much better than the smooth leather on the rest of the wheel, but the gloves give me an xlnt grip no matter where I put my hands...
