Will a Hard Shell Cap off of a 1st gen XTRA Cab fit on a 2nd gen double cab, both trucks are 5'beds. I don't want to drive 2 hours to get the cap to find out it doesn't fit my 2013dcsb.

I don't think they are the same, but I wouldn't swear to it. I'd call a local shop that sells caps and ask. They can give you a quick answer.

Did a little looking around and found this. They are close, but different. It may be possible to make it work. I've put a cap for a 90's model Chevy on a 90's model Dodge. No one could tell it wasn't a perfect fit unless someone told them. My BIL has an F-250 with an 8' bed running a cap made for an F-150. Same thing. If you just want function and are not concerned about a perfect fit it might work. But I wouldn't drive 2 hours to find out it wouldn't work.

Beds are wider on a 2nd gen and the 1st gen would use different mounts as the 2nd gen uses the bed side tracks.
