What's the real deal with climbing there? The news article seemed to imply no protection/gear options:rolleyes:

As a former climber, I understand the excitement, but the risk was excessive. Solo/ free climbing is extremely dangerous and experienced climbers know this. They would never choose to free climb camelback. The "rock" is not the correct type. Its tragic that someone so young passionate about a sport lost to the sport so young. It makes my heart hurt knowing the pain her family and friends are going through for something that could have very easily been avoided.

By the way, the reason I no longer climb was due to a "whipper" off camelback where I fell 30-50ft on a lead climb. I had ropes and a climbing instructor on belay. Thats what saved me and why Im walking today. I had to crawl a few miles out on my butt to get to a vehicle and be taken to the hospital. I was on crutches for 6 months and walking boot for another couple months later.

Took less than 24 hours to install. Much better than the original time quote last night of 2 months.

I'll be having a drink tomorrow morning when I get home from work.

Tank I don't know you personally or Whit but that situation will put a lot of stress on your marriage. If you are willing to sacrifice your marriage then do it. Either way you will be the asshole. The asshole that stays maried and makes him responsible for his actions or the asshole that ends up divorced and pissed everybody off in the process. I have some experience in this case bacuse I have had to make tough decisions with my family so that it would not be detrimental to my marriage. PS been maried 25 years. My $.02.

Thanks for the Info. im not going to do it. I simply dont want kids. Especially someone else's. I have no problem helping him out with babysitting or helping him grow up. But in the end its not my responsibility.

There are some routes but the rock quality is basically shit. Its super old dried mud essentially. There is relatively good protection on the monk its self and a handful of good leads on the head wall but thats about it.
    Damn, glad youre alright

Fuck yeah man. Looks amazing. I don't have a smoker but I'm getting damn close to perfection cooking them in the oven. Got 2 racks about to come out as we speak.
