Are dealers able to "custom" order a truck for you? I've talked with 6 different dealers in the area about getting a trdof in magnetic gray, 6sp manual, double cab, short bed, w/towing package. They all have pretty much told me they're impossible to get in the trd, but I could get one in a sr5 (no thanks). They have told me in this region of the country (Ohio) that you can't get them, but they're more popular in the southern states.

I'm in Ohio and I just got exactly what you described only black and a TRD sport. They had one at kings automall just northeast of Cincinnati.

I found one in inferno at Beechmont Toyota, but I will never own another red vehicle. I'm pretty much set on magnetic. My local dealer (I live in Vandalia just north of Dayton) has exactly what I want coming in sans the manual. I would REALLY prefer the manual though.

    First of all, excellent taste.

Second, this truck you want is a dime a dozen over here in the pacific northwest. If you're up for a road trip, call around dealerships in Seattle, Portland, and other areas out here, you'll likely find one in very little time.

Toyota is being very "smart" in where they are placing manual allocations right now.

Manuals only come in sport or off road. And no there ain't many manuals down south.

Thinking about trading my auto for a manual but there aren't much in Texas. Try searching cars.com

So my dealer can custom order that combo? Its just a matter of waiting for it? I have all the time to wait for one. This will be the first brand new vehicle I've purchased so I'm new to this.

I'm from Centerville just south of Dayton. Let me say make the trip to Kings Automall. I have free oil changes for life from them and all my services every 5,000 miles until 25k are free. They will get you what you want and for the love of God, GET A MANUAL.

Have you reached out to this guy? I've heard about people ordering from him and getting great results. The internet fleet guys name is Dean. I guess he can get stuff done others can't or won't.

Thanks I just put in a request to have them call me tomorrow. One would think it wouldn't be such a pain in the ass to get what you want. Hell I'm fine with paying sticker price as long as I get what I want.

Dealers don't actually "special order" vehicles, they submit an allocation request to Toyota and may or may not get that allocation request filled the two times a month they submit. Dealers telling you it's not possible to get a combination that Toyota actually builds basically is them thinking that telling you "sure we can request it but it may take a few months for Toyota to allocate the truck because we don't get a lot of 7545s in this region so please stick with us and don't ask another dealership" is worse then just trying to pressure you into a truck you don't actually want. BTW, no matter what you should hold out for the manual if that's what you want. I wanted a manual but I'm totally satisfied with the automatic I'm stuck with said no one ever.

I'm perfectly fine with waiting. I have other stuff to drive in the meantime, even though its my shitty s10 because my ss trailblazer broke another trans, I'm fine with driving it. Thats my exact thoughts. If I spend $36k on a truck I don't want to settle for something. Especially because my luck is prone to broken auto's with about every car I've owned. Granted they were all GM that broke, but nevertheless.

This guy shoots pretty straight. If he can get you the truck they will and it will be around $600-$700 over invoice. Don't pay sticker just because you feel like you have to. I emailed 40 dealers until one would give me the pricing I wanted on the exact truck I wanted. I'm flying to Oregon from California this week and driving mine back home 1000 miles. I feel it's worth it to get the truck I want for almost 3k off msrp. I would have worked with desk had I been closer to the Midwest.

a larger volume toyota dealership will probably have a better relationship with their zone rep, and higher probability of getting the allocation to get you the car you want. i ordered my car from a big store in my area, i also happen to have a good relationship with the gm there, so i didn't have any issues. they actually initially ordered me one in black and one in white by accident (i had been going back and forth between the two colors)

Dean is the man!!!! I drove 6hrs to Toyota Ohio West to get my Taco. I wanted a long bed that was loaded.
Now i might trade it in for one of his Tundra's with a 8ft. bed. Love my Taco, but hate this automatic transmission!!!!

Talk to your dealer about finding one in build status or custom ordering it. It took my dealer 2 months to find my truck because it's such a unicorn. He found the truck about a month and a half prior to build date and snagged it. We talked several times about just putting in a build order.

Arlington Toyota in Jacksonville, FL has the config you are looking for. I've been keeping an eye out for the same thing in white.
