There was a great Colbert segment a few year's back where he quoted a study stating that 'the transmission levers in our cars, on average, had a wider variety of bacteria on them than what is found on a public restroom toilet seat.

Which begs the question, who's been shitting in our cars??'

For real though, if people only took the time to actually think about keeping their hands clean regularly (wash them after the bathroom, use sanitizer a few times a day, etc.) we wouldn't have to worry about shit particles in our vehicles.

When I was in high school one of my jobs was working at a large chain bookstore. One night a customer comes in and proceeds to paint the bathroom stall from about 4' high, all the way to the floor. It was an epic blowout that covered the handle, toilet, and exposed plumbing. There was shit everywhere as they just started to go before their ass hit the seat.

Then a few years later in college some dude got wasted and proceeded to shit, then in their drunken stupor picked it up out of the bowl and used it to smear shit and tp on the two walls of the stall, the wall behind the toilet, on the back of the stall door, and the floor of the stall. It was terrible and one of the worst things I ever saw while there. It stayed there for a week, and when nobody fessed up to it, everyone in the dorm was fined $3 so the poor cleaning lady could be begged to clean it up. A few of us had an idea who did it, but the guy didn't fess up because he knew he would have to clean it up. (No, it wasn't me).

In the military I found that a lot of the enlisted guys could get put back in line pretty easily if they didn't wash their hands, didn't flush, etc. You start dogging people out or barking orders and they would clean up their act pretty quickly. The civilians on the other hand were some filthy fuckers, along with the officers as well. They would leave shit in the bowl, wouldn't wash their hands, toss paper towels everywhere, and just made a mess because they knew they wouldn't have to clean that shit up. Then they would touch everything, tools, vehicle door handles, steering wheels, etc. They wouldn't wash their hands before eating either, it was so gross.

Now that I'm in the hospital environment... I always make sure I use the employee bathroom for my dept, and only that bathroom. Fortunately I work by myself so it's easy to keep clean and nobody else uses it at night. The patient bathroom in the ER on the other hand... oh man are those gross. The patients I can understand because they are sick, but it isn't them I worry about... it's their family members who don't wash their hands or clean up after themselves that are the worst.

Quite a few years ago my coworkers at a defense plant saw me leave the room. They went into the bathroom next to our room and saw a pair of sneakers they thought were mine. They bombed the stall with the extra rolls of TP. The look on their face when they came back in our room and I was already there was priceless. We never did find out who they bombed.

This also, my work clothes need to be separate and not thrown in the dryer. My lady tried to help me once and put them in the dryer. It was like that scene from Tommy boy

Fat guy in a little coat.....
