4 months and 13 days.....still no truck...............never again

yea....its hawaii ...its almost here !!! been in oahu for almost 2 weeks for rustproof and roof rack....then ship over to outer island....its hard to believe after selling so much for so long in the islands its still this fucked up to get one.....LBOR is pretty rare still...lots of sports

 

What island are you on? My dad lives in kona. It seems like all the locals who off road own one there.

 

Kauai....I counted over 35 on the beach where i live on the weekend a few months ago...the re sale is so high here once u have one its like gold...I think a 2005 still goes for 16 easy...stock

 

The day I wrote that I decided to wait for the 2017 and went out looking for a used vehicle to keep me going through the summer (been without one since Nov). Then on Wednesday the out-of-state dealer called to say they could still get the truck. I flew out on Friday and picked it up!

Relieved to finally have it. Had a ~600 mile drive home and love it. Now I just need to add a shell.

 

Mine was in Barstow CA rail yard as of 4/30. Hoping to see it in PDX this week, Thursday or Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Ordered a WHT TRD OR DCLB with Tech Package on 3/22.. Dealer says Toyota hasn't accepted the order yet. Should I be worried?

 

My wait was not nearly as long as some of you. Waited two weeks. It was an allocation but exactly as I wanted so it worked out. In the rail yard on 4/27 at the dealer on 4/29 and picked her up on 4/30. Loving it. Thanks to DjSamthrax for keeping eye on the delivery process.

test drove a blue DBL cab. It about glowed in the sunlight. not as impressive in the shade.

 

04/27/2016 I went to the local Toyota dealership, filled out a "New Car Order Form" and gave them a $500.00 deposit.
Access Cab, 4 cyl., 5 spd., 4x4 with the Utility Package preferably in Silver or Red is what I'm looking for.
Salesman said to expect 10 to 12 weeks, but they will be sure to let me know if they can get one sooner.
The sad part is that I recently moved from PA to Vegas, and a dealership ~20 minutes from where I moved has one on the lot. I thought about flying and driving, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for that 2,200 mile drive again.

 

nice bruce.....its an awesome truck. i had a silverado before. Lasted 205k miles surprisingly, but the gas milage was getting to me. What color is your taco and why would you want to paint the fairings. i had a 2000 tacoma before the chevy which had the same black fairings and i think it looks pretty sick. gonna do a storm trooper build with this.

 

Got a bad news from my salesman. Originally he told me 6-8 weeks so I left deposit two weeks ago and now when I asked for update he is telling me this is a custom order and all his allocation is taken. I have good feeling this ain't no 6-8 week wait.. What you guys think?

BTW it's not even custom trim TRD DCOR 4x4 in quicksand.

It's rained almost every day i've had the truck, but i think it looks really nice in the cloudy sky.

 

I would look at other dealers to see if they could do a better job. Sounds like you could be waiting awhile

 

My salesman called last week to tell me it was finished with its train ride (rode from San Antonio to railyard) and should be at dealership Thu or Friday of last week. Now each day it gets pushed back another day. I'm starting to question what is going on. Salesman says he called 'inventory' & they have no way to track it between the railyard and the dealership. Revised eta "today or tomorrow". Dealership is only 160 miles from railyard. It is starting to seem strange that a $34k truck can disappear for (at this point 4-5 days anyway) such a time with Toyota having no clue as to its whereabouts. Of course UPS and fed-ex can track mud-flaps & floor mats but entire trucks fall off the radar while traveling such short distances. Ugh..

 

I put a deposit on DCLB OR 4x4 allocation in early January. The truck is being built next week, I am very excited as its been quite the wait.

 

I'm in the same boat as you, was supposed to be at dealer Friday but hasn't showed up yet. I'm trying to be patient but it's fading fast.
