They refer to their dimpled version as Gen 1. The swaybar retained version is referred to as Gen 2.

Let me know when and I may be able to make it up there, hell I might even be up that way already.

    stupid

Shit. That reminds me. I gotta get his frame plates welded onto the bed and get that all taken care of. I had to swap out my stereo after my amp fried so I've been trying to take care of that fiasco.

Happened to me on my way out to DV and was fortunate enough to catch KR who helped me add a doubler and weld it up. :)

I applaud you for reading the thread.

As far as I'm concerned, the only right way to run the ES bushings is to use the official Tacoma kit ones that are made for our trucks.

That said, I've been running the universal ES bushings, with larger on top, no washer, smaller on bottom with washer for eight months. I like them a lot. One of my favorite upgrades to the truck.

I saw your comment about greasing the bushings... Don't grease them, leave them alone. I talked to ES about this. If they wanted us to grease them, they would have shipped the grease with the bushings.

Are you talking factory replacements or is there a Tacoma specific kit?

Gotcha. Thanks. I'm catching up on all the info in the thread. I'm about 1K away from doing my 30K mile service and will probably attempt this as well.

Installed the universal kit in the radiator mounts yesterday. Driver side showed signs of metal on metal contact - stock bushing was 1/8" with the vehicle at rest. Damn. I ordered the body mount kit too. My cab has been contacting my bolt on sliders. I have a feeling this will solve that problem. I already adjusted the sliders down as far as they can go.

I'm positive that every Tacoma needs this.

So my shop said the body mounts will take 6+ hours to install. Apparently they need to unbolt steering colum etc. is this true?

I think 6 hours is a bit excessive, but if they are quoting you book time and by the book to do it, then I could possibly see why they are saying it would take just about all day.

    Not the column. The shaft.

No. That's not required according to the installation instructions for the ES body mounts (part no. 8.4109G).

However, it has been reported by another member in this thread, that in the past it was part of the procedure.
