Went and had my 5k service today. I've got nothing bad to say. My service guy is a tacoma guy. He knew all about the bitches and complaints on here. He had them grease, torque, check the transmission level and also the transfer case. All checked good. I'm happy with it. I never had any trans issues. Just a slight delay from park to drive when cold. But I've yet to have a car that doesn't have any quirks.

All and all at 5k miles I'm pretty happy with it. I think once I get some time to really use the truck off road, I'll like it even more

I didn't build it hoping for your approval, I built it because it meets mine!
    Thanks dude!

The color is a near perfect match. Wet Okole also offers a beige but it was too light IMHO.

I don't like any other new trucks in the market right now, I would've like a 2015 Tacoma but in my area the used 2015's cost as much if not more than some of the 2016's!

I'm interested to see the new 2017 Raptor but thats alot of coin.

Yeah it's a no brainer to go with the latest and greatest with 0 miles for the same price.

My only regret was not going 4x4 but I don't really take my new truck to the back woods anyway. This my first new vehicle and I don't want to thrash it just yet.

That was a huge deciding factor when I bought mine and the one before I don't know if it's just the area I'm in,but a used one 3-4 years old 85-90km they want 4or 5grand less than a new doesn't really make sense to buy used when your spending that kind of money imo

Awesome man! Glad I could help. ARE also makes the Overland series. It's essentially the same as mine (V Series) but with a black protective paint stripe. That way you would have the blue and the black. Just a thought.

Dropped off at Toyota to check the transmission fluid and for updates, guy was really helpful on the service desk.. we'll see how help the service department is tomorrow when I pick it up. Gear changes don't feel that great, delay from reverse to drive and just doesn't feel right.

Now sir. I didn't ask. Just started talking about the transmission level, the service guy started naming off other issues he had read about. That was one of them

Honestly, fuel mileage seems to be about the same. Power wise, the throttle seems more responsive, and truck sounds a lot throatier. Tomorrow they are taking the install photos and then putting my stock stuff back on.
