I just got a set of black Weathertech liners for my 2001 Tacoma Extra Cab. Weathertech only makes them for the front, not the rear. Part number is: 440101 (Black Weathertech DigiFit)

I ordered black for my tan interior. Figured they'd look better dirty and would match the black parts of the dash anyway.

They fit pretty well. However, one thing that struck me as odd is that the passenger's side mat has a little dimple towards the back to make room for the outer seat rail bolt. But, on the driver's side the bolt is of course there but there is no dimple in the mat. This causes the liner to not sit quite right as it's pushed forward a bit by the bolt.

Any of you guys have the same issue?

I think it's a minor thing and I might cut a little chunk out to make room for that bolt... but I'm just checking to make sure I didn't get the wrong mat or something. Maybe Weathertech had a bit of a snafu on this bit and missed this, I don't know. Or maybe the driver's side was designed first and by the time they got to the passenger's side they fixed the issue. Who knows.

    Check out the pics...

What did WeatherTech say when you sent them the pics and asked?

Facepalm. This is Tacoma World. This could help other members. Not the type of attitude I expect on one of my favorite forums of all time. Go have a beer and come back.

So you're asking if WeatherTech sent the wrong mat or if there is a construction issue of your mat but you don't want to ask the company who manufactured it and mailed it to you?

    Seems logical. Good luck.

Oh come on. When I bought these, I bought them because of all the photos of Husky Liners in gen 1s here on TW. I though they looked great, but still preferred the look of WEathertechs in Gen 2s. (Not many gen 1 photos around). So here are some Gen 1 photos that show how good the liners look, yet expose a tiny issue. I'm not going to bother contacting WT because I'm not too concerned. I'm out.

Contacting WT isn't going to take anymore time than it took to create this thread. You could probably just send them the link to this thread. I am in the market for floormats/floorliners myself and would like to know the answer and others in the future on here will too.

Whoah! Did they fit on the inside corner? Nearest the tranny hump? I didnt have luck. The weathertechs have a regular corner, but my 2003 appears to be more diagonal there.

I looked back sometime ago. They were not being made yet.

Like everything else bugs to work out .

I have yet to find a set of floor mats that I don`t have trouble with them moving and getting all bunched up.

The right side works great because no one ever sits over there

Then I take them out of the truck and they get cut up for other projects.

Feed back to the Manufacture is always good both positive and negative .

From your Avatar, yours looks like a double cab. I believe that's normal for the double cabs. They apparently have a hump there that the Xtra cabs don't.

I see you don't have the dimple for the seat rail bolt either. I guess they are all like that. Still, I'm pretty happy with the mats. Being on them for over a week now.
