I want to lower my *required front license plate so I can mount a LED bar in the bumper without it being in the way as well as stop it from rattling against my bumper every time there's a breeze. Also, I don't like the put license plate in the front skid as I don't want to have to retrace my steps to look for my plate or get a new one. I don't have the tools to fabricate one either. I just want a simple solution to move my license plate low enough to not block a LED bar in bumper as well as hold it secure so it doesn't repeatedly hit my bumper. Is that so much to ask?

Here's how I did mine, I bought the license plate bracket from Amazon for like 10 bucks and mounted it to the bumper. The bolts it comes with are a little too long but you can trim them to sit more flush so that they don't scratch the bumper behind the plate.

I don't have a better picture but this is how it looks, I'll take some better photos tomorrow but it mounts pretty flush and wouldn't interfere with a light bar over it.

    iJDM front plate relocate bracket.

You can fill the holes in the bumper from the original place that the dealer drilled holes into with paintable caulk then just paint it with dupli-color color match touch up paint, looks like it was never there.

They also have plugs specifically for your bumper holes. Color matched and shipped to your house.

Google 'Tacoma bumper plugs' or similar

I centered mine horizontally on the bumper and drilled holes through the plate. Put a few washers between the plate and bumper and it doesn't scratch. The holes are already there anyways.
