    hey TW

I'm looking at getting rid of access cab 06 OR for a double cab. I found a 2012 TRD Trails Team Sport which is Canadian for I believe the TRD PRO. The only down side is it has 250,000km or 155,000miles on it. Now I know that is super high amount of km or miles on the truck. Unfortunately it's the only way to afford the new body style Tacoma and the double cab I desire. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the downside or risk in buying the Tacoma with high kms. What can I expect to go wrong with the truck and should I just avoid this one all together.

    Appreciate everyone's opinion thanks.

Crawl under the truck and look at everything thoroughly. Leaks, CV boot rips, busted ball joints, broke motor mounts. Take it for a test drive, does it drive straight? Is the frame mostly rust free? You are in Canada, where I imagine they use a lot of salt on the roads which would lead to a rusty frame. Use your better judgement. Also there are 3rd party companies (here in the Southern U.S. anyway) that you pay a small fee and they will look the truck over for you.

The biggest thing would be rust. Get under there and take a good look. You could need new hubs soon if they haven't been replaced. Thats a lot of miles if the 4wd hasnt been maintained also. (I don't own a 4wd but I did say at a holiday in express.)

I wouldn't be able to buy it. To many miles under someone else's toolage but if you need extra room you need extra room. Take it to a mechanic (maybe someone on tw can point you to one in Canada since I get the feeling it's not local to you) and have it checked out.

Anybody have anything else to say on the topic. I'm leaning toward doing it.

TRD Pro did not come out till 2015. Why do you think it is a pro? Does it have TRD remote rear reservoir shocks? There was the TRD Baja, which was similar in suspension to the Pro.

It is a lot of miles for the year, but not for one of these trucks. Good news is that should mean lots of those are freeway miles. They are pretty reliable as long as your frame is solid.

I was curious so I googled it. Seems to be a package for our northern friends.

The Trail Teams Sport Package enhances the TRD Sport Package, adding: unique black side-step bars; TRD exhaust system; roof rack with cross bars; front skid plate; and Trail Teams Sport decals.

Asking price was 19,799. But I currently have it at 18,500 all in. That's Canadian $$ too

I'm not sure then maybe it is a baja similar version. It's a Canadian version of one of those Tacomas because the baja and pro were not offered here in Canada
