I went to a local car audio shop today ,and this what I learned.

1st the claim aftermarket , even JBL , 6x9's won't replace the factory 6x9's . The issue is the depth of the speaker. 6.5" components with adapters is what they are saying is used.

2nd The real limitation is with the factory head unit. But! There is a cheap easy fix. A processor will dial your system in to make the factory head unit sound like a great quality aftermarket unit.

3rd The factory amp is also limiting our systems. Recommended was a 5 channel amp.

Speaker and a replacement subs are additional options. They claim the processor and amp will solve most issues we are having.

I would love to know what others think.

Agree. In my opinion, a processor and amp makes it sound much better along with better speakers. I have a Mosconi 6to8 processor and a JL xd700/5 amp with focal speakers all around and JL stealthbox. Night and day difference.

Did the same on my truck. I that is where I attach my scuba cylinders. I was mortified to find out they removed it from the truck, never understood why they would do that.l makes no sense to me.

I did a full audio system. I would not be able to go back. Talk to Mr Marv for a box. He also sells good audio equipment. Pm me if you need any help. I have a lot of lessons learned from my install

Thanks, that's what I was shooting for. Better yet, except for the traction strips, it was all stuff I already had left over from doing something else. It's the bonus of always fixing or building - the leftovers make great projects. This is what I was using the tube steel for to begin with:

From that videos I've watched by the OEM Audio guys and Taco Tunes, that all sounds about right. Only difference is OEM Audio still uses 6x9's up front. Did they give you a quote for all of that installed?

Ham radio antenna,Firestone Ride-Rite air spring Snug Top topper, and a rifle rack y'all ..Moroso Catch Can, De-badged.
Changed the oil and filter at 5k, found it was over filled by 1.25 qts... Located five zerk fittings on the u-joints and found they needed 7 pumps to get them to purge. The front most one wouldn't take any lube, next time it goes for service I will let them know if they can fix that...
Installed the Tekonsha 90195, P3 brake controller below the switch cluster, easy plug and play. I'm hoping its clear of the leg air bag..

Thanks for the wallpaper suggestions fellas, looks like the black and white photo is the winner!! And so it will be!!

RE-removed my Air dam as well, after i got the truck washed at a "pro" shop.... They did a CRAP job. Looked good from distance, but no where near as good as i do myself. Would of been 35 bucks down the drain, except i had a free wash coupon from referring a vehicle there for window tinting. Still i wont be going back for another wash.

I need to find a place to do a good wax job at a decent price.... Hell i wouldnt know what a decent price is for a wax job as i have never done one, or paid to have one done...

I can use some of that sod myself! Threw down some grass seed early today in my 40x40 hillbilly hangout area.... It attracted a million ants

Thats BEAUTIFUL!! I love me some wood!!

The center piece is my "Worldwood" logo elsewhere, its made out of oak, black walnut, and red cedar. The outer boards are my favorite wood, its Buckeye Burl. No paint on any of it but the wood "logo" has a clear varnish over it.

You can get them from ruggedT or CBoy808 (they are the sticker guys - people order a lot of decals from them and they are both awesome and easy to work with). I order 0.5" height to fit that spot.
