Wheeling is a luxury with the Ohio life. When it's nice out you want to wheel, but need to take care of a million things before the weather gets sheisty again.

So I put my bike up for sale on Craigslist and got a response pretty quick.. The guy is asking if he can write me a check and come pick the bike up after the check clears. That's some weird sounding shit, right? The thought of it makes me uncomfortable but I really can't think of a reason why it would go wrong. There wouldn't be a way for him to access my checking account that I can think of, he would just be giving me a check... Thoughts?

I've had a shit load of responses like that for stuff on CL. I always text back with an answer saying I want cash then never get a reply. Don't fall for it. In fact, in one day I got three emails saying the EXACT same thing about sending checks like that but from 3 different people but the names were all the same.

Yeah if they can write a check they can give you cash. If they just dont want to carry cash have them walk into the bank and have a cashiers check made out right to you. When I bought an XTerra years back I actually had like 6 grand in cash for it with me. The seller wanted a cashiers check so I had to go take all the cash to the bank and get one lol

What I do with those assholes on CL is I follow through with the transaction and I have them mail the check - which they really do, via FedEx - to my former boss in Mount Gilead, who I hate. I have them mail it to his attention at the department address, and normally there is some minor time investment on my end because i have to answer a few texts from them over a period of a few weeks, but who cares. They are out their time and the money it costs them to ship the bogus check, and I get to fuck with a dude I hate because he keeps getting overnight checks from Nigerian scammers delivered to him. Win-win!

I had one asshole threaten to "call the FBI" when I never sent him his "overpayment", I just texted him a picture of my badge and my middle finger. Most just let it go after a few weeks.

Oh man those mushies sound so damn tasty!

I might have this guy send the check and then sit on it for as long as possible. I talked to a friend that says she got paid by check and it took her bank a week to realize the check was bogus. So as long as I don't give up the merch I should be fine. Thanks for the heads up all!

    Hey guys,

I wanted to formally introduce myself in this section of the threads due to the fact that I am located in Ohio! Anyways, I am sure you guys all know who we are. If not check us out on IG. We are a Toyota off-road enthusiast page that wants to bring together a community of avid Toyota off-road activists. I just wanted to see what kind of pull we have here in Ohio so I can take into account the numbers if we were to have a meet. I know @devils__advocate_ from IG is here in Ohio, along with a couple other Taco guys on here. You know what they say, the more the merrier! Just wanted to say hi and we hope to see you guys soon!

Santa delivered this today. What does it get used for first? Pulling concrete footers out of the ground.
