Added lights to my tent. Really worked well this weekend at Stagecoach in Indio. Not remote camping in the slightest haha but really fun.

I like the lights! I think my tent is too low for them to do anything but maybe in the future

I had an idea for my awning set up over the weekend. I want to run it off the back but my hatch would hit it. I don't want hang it off the drivers side because that is so far from my tent entrance. I'm thinking of trying to make a bracket that mounts on the back and slides to the right. That way it will be like it extends from my tent base. I think it's doable. Anybody done something similar. I got the idea from this.

Be rather easy to make something like that. Hardest part would be mounting it to whatever setup you use for the RTT. The actual contraption could be made out of 1.5x1.5x.125 steel with a simple hinge bracket on one end. The bracket could be simple thick flatbar (3/8's?) done sort of like a leaf spring hanger that had holes in each end that bolt through the ends of the square tubing. Then to mount the awning, make the mount for it and make it so it hinges. Make the square tubing piece that folds out half the width (ie so the awning bracket is centered in the back of your 4runner).

There is a TON of stuff you could do to make it fancier as well. Like doing 1.5" square tubing then have a slider piece in the short end that fits inside the 1.5" square tubing. Drill holes and hve a pin and you could extend it out further that way.

I have a couple ideas. I'm hoping I can figure this out. Would look really cool and make a huge area that is covered. I'd have the hatch, 5ft x 3.5ft, the Awning, 6.5ft x 8ft, and the tent with its annex overhangs about 8ft x 4ft.
