All I found on wheelers was these: I'll have to call to see if there will be a 2016 valve/spring difference or if ARB is just making this one.

I just talked with Dan at Wheelers. He said ARB has not been real clear on if the 16's will have a separte part number, but the underdstanding at the moment is that they will be identical for the 2nd and 3rd gens. He said they do not have them in hand yet and that the tentative ETA from ARB is June....

So, keep waiting boys and girls.

I figured they would bother changing the valving for the 3rd gens. None of the companies want to spend the time and money on the R&D for it.

I have a strong feeling that I want these! I just don't that to be the first to test them out on the 16' Tacoma

They literally did do the r&d on it. Plenty of posts from ARB with these being tested since the 3rd Gen came out. And these haven't been available for 2nd Gen, so it's not that they carried over a half ass design to the new gen.

It looks like (according to the information on wheelers offroad site) you have to adjust them off the car on a spring compressor. Not sure I like that.

I read that also. Seemed strange for a full coil over. One of the benefits of coil overs is that you can adjust themy in the truck. May get something else if that is the case.

These have been discussed on the FJ forums for quite some time - adjustments to height must be done with the coilovers off the vehicle and using a spring compressor. Not cool for the price.

The issue with fitment from 2nd gen to 3rd will most likely come from the remote resi mounts - on the FJ the tubing connecting the shocks to the remote reservoirs is specifically fitted to the FJ, the brackets use existing bolt holes to mount. So the upper/lower shock mounts may fit just fine but your remote resi's might require some customization to work on a 3rd gen until they release a specific set for the 3rd.

Heard nothing but good things once they're dialed in, but most FJ'ers have at least a couple tear-downs to get the height right, which means re-alignment or waiting until you're happy with the stance before you get one. Seems like a pain to me.

I don't think you'd need to take them off the truck, just unload the suspension and then compress the spring enough to make the adjustment. Of course, I have no firsthand knowledge with BP-51s, just a schmuck with a truck making an educated guess.

The adjustment collar on these are 2 piece, and a set screw cinches everything tight. If you can picture what I mean, then you have to get really lucky to even have access to that screw on the vehicle, as it can be turned behind the shock tower or otherwise unaccessable. Even though that collar has holes in it for a spanner wrench, OME doesn't provide one specific to the BP-51, and other wrenches from other coilovers don't fit. Getting the suspension unloaded is only have the battle with adjusting these, you need access to that set screw both before adjustment and after to re-tighten. That's another reason they're supposed to be off the vehicle: Once unloaded and the set screw loosened, collar adjustment is done by hand, no wrench needed.

The way I understand it is no interchangeable coils (like the original OMEs) at this time. Adjust the preload on the spring for height/weight. Tune the rear Dakars by removing/adding a leaf for height/weight and adjust the rebound and damper as desired.
Is anyone aware of a loss of down travel?
