Deaver 2" AAL in rear w/ axle shims. 285 x 75 r 16 Goodyear Duratracks. Wheelers steelies type B, AFE cold air intake. Sway bar delete. All Pro Apex front bumper (rattle canned Rustoleum primer + flat black). Plasti-dipped emblems. Mud flaps removed.
I think the point was simply that if you haul a lot of shit, you might as well get a full size due to the higher capacity in terms of both volume and weight of a full size bed. No one suggested that preferring a long bed means you should just get a full size.

I too have enjoyed reading several long bed vs short bed reads, thought I would keep it going. :boink:
The short bed looks better in a stock configuration, the long bed looks the best lifted. Camp regularly and tow a large pop up, some say a longer wheel base improves towing performance, the extra space provided by a 6ft comes in handy. My brother in law has a short bed TRD and I think he is a little jelly of the extra space when we camp. If you want to 4whl or jump in the desert get a short bed. Long bed is the most practical for me.

My truck is long, black, stock, and kinda weird looking, like a limo. When I wear out these dunlops and the truck is paid off corrections to the stance will begin. Like em both but the long bed is the best, short bed people know it...just wont admit their mistakes.:frusty: :D

I choose the DC short bed and I wanted a TRD OR. I also live in the city and have a shell on the back and it's much easier to park in tight short spots. I added a roof rack to the shell for hauling objects that are longer than the bed allows for. The extra bed length would be nice, but certainly not a deal breaker.

Short bed if your main goal with the truck is to wheel it offroad and you want the shortest wheelbase available in a double cab.

Long bed if you use the truck for work (construction) or hauling stuff like ATV's or motorcycles or if you want to be able to sleep in the back with a canopy.

If they only made a 6 ft bed on a double cab short bed chassis...

Short enough to wheel, long enough to haul. It would be the best of both worlds.

They might call it something like "Access Cab", or something.

Apparently you drive as bad as you type lol. A long bed isn't that difficult to drive lol.

Actually if you need crew cab... you don't gain much of anything except interior cab room jumping to a full size like the Tundra which comes in what? A 67.2 inch bed? There is no long bed in that configuration. So if your like me and downsizing for parking space issues and the fact that you only use the truck as a truck maybe once ever other week and then you NEED it as a truck that day... you really end up with not much other compromise than to go long bed and get that extra foot. Because with the reduction in width... you lose at 60 inches but gain that back at 72 inches. You get about the same exact area capacity by going with the Tacoma long bed when you do this. This was my situation. And so my choice. Everyone has different needs. But I downsized for a couple reasons. I sure miss the cab space but I got a much more comfortable parking situation now, a tad better fuel mileage and I use it as a car more of than a truck. And I wanted 4 wheel drive this time as well. Its all a matter of personal choice but... is some instances you do not gain a lot going full size depending on what full size you chose to compare it to.

But your short beds do look cute....:boink::D
