You must've doused the shit outta them. I just wiped mine down with a rag and they were fine. A little slick for the first day, but that was it

It's possible I got a little spray happy, but it was only a few pumps per mat. It's a great product but I'm gonna stick to soapy water and a brush for the mats in the future.

I am telling you Up2NoGood you will thank me!!!!!! I have NEVER been taught a better "trick" in my life. I have told at least 30 people and they all can't believe the results. And they all still do it to this day. and they all still talk about it and can't believe how easy and how nice it comes out

I use just the regular old fashioned Armor-all. But i would think you could use any of those shinny type cleaners. Only problem is make sure bottle is full. Because you have to spray it sideways sometime(or upside down) to make sure you coat everything. The fuller the bottle the better to get everything soaked. Actually one with a hose and movable head would be best.

Before I sell a car I always do this. And i'm willing to bet that some have sold mostly on the results of this. When you open the hood after the 15 minutes or so you won't believe how good it looks. And you know me, i'm the one always asking questions. I never recommend anything unless I know it is the absolute best.

I wish it wasn't 40 degrees out and pouring for the past 6 days or I would go do it right now to show pics. The best part is the Air cleaner, Hoses, battery and the clear plastic stuff(brake fluid bottle). they look brand new!!!! And without any scrubbing at all.

I've caught bits and pieces of what you guys are talking about..

detailing under the hood? using armor all and just spraying everything?

im in need of a good engine bay detail..

That's what i do. I keep the car running for two reasons. One, to produce heat so it's kind of like steam cleaning. And two, in case i spray something that would cause the motor to stall. But our trucks are pretty water tight. I have never even got a skip out of spraying the motor. And i have done this a hundred times over the years. You would need to cover the air cleaner if you had a CAI. I had one a while ago and couldn't leave car running when i did. I put a plastic bag over my open air cleaner and had the motor off in those days.

But you don't have to leave motor running. That's just me. I've done it both ways and it really doesn't matter.

P.S. I try to avoid the super hot stuff like exhaust manifolds and stuff. I also don't do this when the motor is super hot. But never had a problem hitting anything with the water. But avoid whatever you think should not get sprayed.

Tires, soon to be shocks, bushings, and bull bar. No lift, not needed.
Went to change out my pads and rotors last night. Everything was going smoothly. That is, until we ran upon a seized caliper. We tried C-clamps, we tried putting pressure on it while still connected, we tried everything we could think of and nothing, nothing came from it. We did however figure that the caliper was the actual reason my wheels shook so much when I hit the brakes at 70mph. I wasn't able to put the new pads on because it was 2am and I didn't want to drive another hour to get the new caliper so we just put the old on back and hoped it wouldn't mess up even more. Lo and behold on my way home, there was no wheel wobble when I hit the brakes. They'll last a bit since the pads and rotors weren't too bad; I was replacing them because I thought rotors had warped. Well, looks like I have a spare set of brakes when I'm ready to switch them out.

Power washed my vehicles engines regularly for years. I usually leave them running, and the only problem that I have ever had was a Honda accord threw a code once after washing. Some water got inside of a sensor connector and shorted across the leads causing the fault code. Once I read the code, figured out the location of the sensor and dried everything out it was fine. Minor nuisance.

This made me giggle a little. I saw your original post yesterday about how you do it and how confident you were with it. I thought hell I never clean my engine bay but I'll give it a shot. So I did it and drove around for 10 minutes or so. Got home and checked and it was still dirty as hell and looked like shit. Hahaha. I'm not knocking your methods by any means. Just made me laugh since it's the first time I've attempted to clean an engine bay in probably 10 years.

    Too few to list.
If you have clay type mud, just simply spraying water will not work. You might have to use engine degreaser and even a soft brush or loosen the dirt. I do this about once a year or after a muddy trip. Armor all trick does wonders but I use 303 instead and just lightly spray everything as the heat when driving will spread that around.

I just made the same mistake, detailed my truck and used 303 on my WTs for the first/last time- too slippery. I read about Duragloss 253 being used, I have ordered some from auto geek and will post after use.

Don't use anything for any plastic/rubber flooring. Regardless of what you use, it will be slippery.

Makes sense, have had my WTs for 3 years and always just wash with brush and hose off but last detail I wanted to get a little shine going. Have already ordered the duragloss as I wanted to try on my tires, another member here posted good results with using. I will post after using on tires and try a little on my WTs.

oh definitely. I always power wash most of the dirt and grime away.. but then for the small areas and and overall detail. I will try my 303 next time.

This week's fiasco included me disconnecting the sway bar a test driving it only to immediately rip the outer cv boot. Dealer wanted $485. Haha so I bought a boot, cracked the outer race on the cv joint trying to disassemble it, and now 2 weeks later I have a new cv axle and swaybar completely removed. Damn truck has 8k miles and I'm breaking crap in rediculous ways. Lol

I know i know. I'm telling you it's the lack of sun. it's was pretty bad though(all winter long). And yes this is only for decent compartments anyways. Nothing fixes rust and missing paint and stuff like that.

This thing has 80K on it. My last most had 200K and looked just like this when sold. this is only the clean the engine bay. not restore it
