Mine was set to be built on 4/27 and I have been waiting for a phone call with an update (as I was promised). Today, I called to check with the fleet manager on the shipping status, only to find that the sales guy I was working with no longer works there.
Anyway, I was told it should be at the dealership 5/4 - 5/8, so hopefully less than a week to go.

I ordered mine (TRDOR DCLB) on 3/22. Last time I talked to the dealer (after a week of emailing) he said it would have a born-on-date of 5/12 and that delivery was typically 1-2 weeks later. I sent another email today to confirm... nothing yet.

Is there a website to track your truck or are you relying on the sale guy for the updates? How does it work exactly if you walk into a dealer and order a truck?

I ordered a DCLB OR 4x4 with JBL in Quicksand on April 9th. I got the Vin on April 11th with a build date of May 7th. I hope to have it in my driveway in late May :) Looks like mine will be a Baja build.

Dealers in the SF Bay Area are not moving off of MSRP. The best I found was only 750 under MSRP so I kept looking. I got lucky and found a small dealer in the North Bay that would work with me on pricing. Got mine for 36.4K so I can't complain too much.

    Looking forward to getting it:)

Dealers check on Dealer Daily. Any office employee of the dealership can look it up for you. If any sales person or paper pusher tells you they can't, you tell them they are a lazy POS.

I had a terrible experience with this dumb hipster lady. We told her what we wanted, I quoted invoice and msrp prices from memory, and she said to us, "You can't order these trucks. This isn't the 90s. These require addendums above MSRP." We laughed in that bitches face and asked for a manager. He came out and gave us a much more straight forward answer that they werent ordering anymore before they released them.

If you want them to order you one, you are better off using Toyotas dealer locator and contacting ALL of the dealers within 100 miles to see if what you want is IN THEIR ALLOCATION. YOU DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM IN PERSON UNTIL THEY ASSURE YOU IT IS IN THEIR ALLOCATION AND THAT IT IS NOT RESERVED FOR ANYONE ELSE. They will tell you it is on their sales floor just to get you into the dealership. They are pieces of shit like that. We had some ass hats try to sell us a truck off another lot which we already knew was sold to someone else before they even got it.

Don't get played. Only order if you have a dealer who is going to give you 1000 off at the least.

We found one the day it came into allocation and put a deposit on it. It was 500 under MSRP which was great for socal back in November.

It's possible to get what you want, even if that's a 7568, it's just going to be a lot of work. I come in here every so often to lend support because several members helped me out back in August to November while we searched high and low for ours. I contacted the nearest 80 dealers and heard back from 49 of them

@Z50king i wish the toyota inventory locator site shows which dealer actually has it, its hard to know who actually has what.

Well, just thought I would share my "Unicorn" story while I am still waiting for my Taco to arrive. First of all, the double cab long bed in Sport and Off Road has been an incredibly rare beast to say the least. I started looking in October 2015 and there were no long beds available or even projected in the production schedules. I worked with multiple dealers in the region but nobody was getting any long bed models. Finally in January there was one or two that came available but they had so many options added on that the price was inflated past 38K. I kept looking and looking but no long beds. Then all of a sudden in mid April there were several long beds scheduled for production and I found my dream truck finally. On 4/20 I put a deposit on a TRD Sport DC LB in Blazing Blue with the only added option being the towing package, this is exactly what I has been looking for. So the truck built on 4/26 and was in transit at the Barstow rail yard on 4/30, still waiting to get it. I will definitely post a picture when it finally gets here.

    Hey Hook,

Dealer Daily tracker. I harass my salesman every two days and make him check it. As long as Toyota accepted your order you should have either a temp vin(pre production) or an actual vin (built) they can track both with the dealer daily. My truck should have been here already. they kept moving the production date back. They must feel bad caused they moved the delivery date

Someone told m the more options you have the longer it stays in port. Mine was just tow package. Mine only spent 4 days in port. I talked to a few guys on here whose trucks sat for weeks at the port.

Mine is just tow package and bed lights. I think the tow package is done at the factory, but I know bed lights are port installed.

That's why you NEED to contact every dealer. They know what is on their lot and what is in allocation

Actually every dealer can see every other dealers allocations. When My truck showed up as being built all of the other dealers I had dealt with started calling me telling me they could get me the truck I wanted. problem was it was my truck they were trying to sell me. They were all going to try to dealer swap for the truck I ordered.

Did you get a Sport or an OR? There are lot more DCLB Sports available here than ORs.

They would only spend a longer time in port due to port installed options.

The person I replied to said they wished Toyota's website would show what truck is where. That's why I said to contact dealers. When these first came out, dealers were seeing trucks come into other dealer's allocations and were trying to sell them based on the assumed dealer swap. The problem was dealers were doing paperwork for trucks that were already deposited upon at the dealer who had them in allocation. A dealer almost did this to us before I pressured them into telling us what other dealer had the truck. They told me who and then I told them to call the other dealer because I knew it was already sold to someone. They also offered to sell it to us for 5000 over msrp. I'll keep the language I used to myself
