I really have been impressed with the 2.7 manual. It is fun to drive. Pretty zippy but not a rocket. It pulls a loaded bed (900lbs) almost the same as empty. Even loaded it feels like you can't hurt it.

There are quite a few 4-cylinder threads on here so do a search. Also from what I've read there were changes to the vvti for 2016.

As for the mpg, the v-6s are getting way less than advertised, unless you drive like a Grampa on flat ground everywhere. I live in the hills and commute in the Bay Area and I'm averaging 23.2 on 6 tanks of fuel (Acess Cab 4x4 manual). The SR 2.7 is probably the best bang for the buck. No way could I see paying 40k for some fancy electronics and 100 more HP.

And don't be worried, the first 500 miles the 2.7's feels like it has 50hp.

I like my sr for the price it does everything I need it to. I hate the chrome rear bumper on the sr5. My sr has color matched bumpers.... I added the fogs myself. I think it's a great value

Double Cab SR? If so, how much did you end up paying? 4x2?

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
... ^^^ ... Nice truck and that looks like a "loaded SR" DC/SB, alloys, premium tires and foglights and etc.

Did all of those options come stock on that SR from the dealer aka dealer add-on options ?? Just curious

Not much price difference between a "Loaded SR" and a "Base SR5".

I have an AC-LB SR5 and same color (steel wheels) ... and the above SR Tacoma looks much better than mine ... :anonymous:

I added fogs after i got truck... Went with the morimoto elite led fogs... The only options i received from dealer was the alloy wheels and convience package... When i was about to take delivery of truck i had dealer credit me for stock tires and swapped out for bigger bfg ko2s. The swap cost me 500. Still with the wheels, added package and upgraded tires i was still under 30.
