I'm glad you guys brought these up. Just getting ready for windshield tint and could not decided between a 50% ceramic and the air80. The main reason I want it is for heat reduction, but cutting some glare would be nice too. What do you guys think cuts heat the best?

Purchased from a local dealer, Toppers Louisville. It's an ARE Z series, only had it about a week, fits great, looks great, and functions how it should. There is an orange 2016 Taco in the parking lot where I go to school with the same topper I have, and the color match is perfect. A shop will pull the color code and send it to ARE to paint your topper to match.

ETA - Only complaint is the fit/finish quality of the weather trim between the window panes on the side. It looks like they hacked the pieces off with a pocket knife, as they are crooked and not flush. Poor craftsmanship for a $2600 topper, and it's quickly noticeable. It was the first thing that drew my eye. I have been playing phone tag with ARE for a few days, so I have not spoken to anyone besides my dealer about the issue. Dealer says they all ship that way b/c ARE uses rolls of trim pieces and cuts to length for each topper depending on the varying heights.

I just had the Air80 done on Friday. It's pretty hard for me to tell how much of a difference it's made though since it's been in the 90's every day since. No matter what you do it's still going to be hot as balls in your truck after sitting all day here in Florida.

I'm sure it does help some though and there's the UV benefits as well, so I have no regrets about springing for it.

Are you saying you can't actually feel a noticeable difference while driving?

Did that work? If not, ill show the photos to my detailers. They may have another guess but im almost certain its industrial fallout.

Won't help with UV reduction on the windshield, the glass in the windshield is a laminated glass and the PVB interlayer that bonds the two sheets of glass together blocks more than 99% of UV rays.

To reduce heat I just drive with the AC on. Now I don't live anywhere near the sunbelt but I've been in 100+ degree heat and just cranked the AC and that worked for me. If this works by all means, I just would never do it because, well, it's illegal up here and it would seemingly reduce visibility to me especially at night.

It's been hot as crap here so I've had the AC cranked when driving anyway so it's really hard to say.

One would probably have to go from one truck with it to one without it in the exact same conditions to really tell you how much of a difference it makes.

OMG, turn my AC on? Why didn't I think of that?? Florida=AC is pretty much always on.

Visibility is virtually unchanged. It's very hard to tell visually that anything has been done at all. I have issues with visibility at night (I won't drive my wife's accord with 20% tint) but this doesn't bother me at all.

Google Bryce Fastener and see what they are. You won`t get them out by using a Torx Bit. I manufacture, test and sell these everyday for a living.:D
