That sounds like a good idea. I had some play and I removed my 1 inch block lift so I'm at 3 inches of lift now. Hoping this carrier last longer. I probably could have gotten another 10,000 out of it but with driving to Arizona and back this month and moab and back its not worth dealing with it later.

I was having a little vibes at take off before the re gear and locker install. I wonder if the solid pinion spacer got rid of the vibes. I always thought it was the carrier bearing but its still sloppy and vibrs are gone.

You can easily test the rear wheel bearings. Lift the rear and check for play.. your vibes might be from axel wrap. If its durring acceleration. Wheel bearings woukd be more high speed vibes. But im no pro.

Thanks MJ. You might have missed it but I posted it a few days back, turns out it was my rear wheel bearings, not the CB. Had em both replaced. Vibes all gone...

Nick when you re geared did you get tge solid pinion spacer put in.?
Just curious if its something that is over looked when chasing the low speed vibe we all seem to have,or had and can't figure the exactly what it is. The only thing that i have found that completely got rid of it for others was a custom drive shaft that eliminates the carrier bearing.the vibes i had were minor but now gone. The only change has been the rear diff. I kinda think that the stock gears with 285s was causing minor axel wrap at take off after 20mph it was no longer there. Now with the new gears less torque is being applied to the diff, equals no axel wrap. I would think with softer leafs it would be worse. But with the heavy springs we have , its minimal. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? .

Not from axle wrap. Its a vibe at rolling speeds between 3 and 10 mph with and without acceleration. Felt like its coming center to front. Though it might be the carrier but guess its coming from the front somewhere. Im not to worried about it. I don't drive that slow often. I wouldnt have even noticed it if I didn't drive my truck to work in traffic a couple days once and a while.

Mine had about a quarter of an inch I any direction. When I removed it just came off, no jaw puller. The bearing itself was cooked and the rubber was pretty bad.

Well, thats fun, went out to the bike today, noticed the metal banding showing through. Checked it a few week ago and had a bit of tread left. Emergency tire replacement for $325, yay. Only shop in Fairfield with my size tire. It looks a little ragged so I'm guessing earlier this week when some dude cut me off and I had lay in the rear a little bit, must have caught in some gravel or something. So thats my day.
