I think I have a 7 or 8 foot surf rod at my bros house so I will check on that. I use 30 pound braid on my spinning set up and it is a pretty stiff rod for medium action.
Can we have fires on the beach?

We can have fires as long as there isn't a burn ban.

I am pretty sure I am going but will more than than likely be ridding with someone with a 4x4. I might still bring my truck but will just have to see.

I know a few cachers down that way. I'll ping them and see what they say. I haven't been past Victoria along the coast. So I really don't know.
    I'll PM/email with any info I obtain.

I may place a few caches cause I've had this crazy idea for a Coastal Adventure series bouncing around in my head for quite some time now... but we'll see... I'll let you know offline what I come up with. Don't want to muck up this thread with off-topic chatter. ;)

Going to make sliders, skids and bed cage/box, I have a camper shell for long range travel. Vision X Tantrum Lights for being a "pimp in the bush", Cobra CB, lots of tools and random junk that helps to add traction due to weight.
I'll be there. We can meet at the Malachite Visitor center-or at the gas station on Whitecap. When I went with the TTORA FJ group we met at the station and it allowed everyone a chance to top off their tanks and gather some snacks. If we are going all of the way to Port Mansfield-then I highly recommend extra fuel. For those that have never been this far south, also be prepared for the wind. It is almost always extremely windy.

I guess I'd better start cleaning the truck-so I can get it dirty on the 9th.

Safe travels folks and Have a Merry Christmas!

You are right to remind everyone about extra fuel. Chugging thru the sand will gulp fuel pretty quick.

I will add you to the list.
