Well if your going to lift it, you should just wait instead of putting new shocks on it the taking them off to lift it even higher

actually, with the 5100's, you can set them for stock height, as well as 2.5 inches, so they'd actually work ok.

Oh thats right i forgot that they do that, yeah deffinettly get those, if you get the heavy duty they could be to heavy duty and could ride even rougher.

The heavy duty Bilstiens are valved way to hard for the Tacomas.

Yes. You should get an alignment after installing the new shocks anyway, since the ones on there are shot, and you dont know when the last time it was aligned. :)

If you are going to lift it, get it aligned. Kinda suck that it just got aligned, but if you are going to throw a little height up front, you'll need to do it again. :(

The 5100's are a good choice but you need to consider how much lift you may eventually add. If you're looking for a 6" lift then I would wait on the shock purchase as the 5100's won't work for that amount of lift and therefore a waste of $$$. I have the Sway Away Race Runners (3" coil over lift in the front) and they are a far superior shock to the TRD Bilsteins but are pricey.

when the time comes, all im planning on doing is a toytec 3 inch lift, so i think the billy 5100's will be ok for it. however, the saw's are sweet as hell.

They are just like any other gas charged shock, just with the "Bilstien" lable.

a few small dents here and there
I've been wanting to level my 04 and was looking at the adj. 5100's but they don't show a listing for the 04 (only 05- later) can they fit the 04. I've seen others say they had them on the earlier Tacoma's so I guess they can be made to fit? Also can they be set anywhere between stock and 2.5 inches (I'm thinking about 1.5 inches would be about right) or just one or the other?
