Check out the srcgis site for the gpx they use. Your route appears much much farther. I can see them both imported into backcountry navigator and they don't match except a little

Yours follows the older paradox more than the new rim rocker

Looks like more small towns along the rim rocker which may be best for your gas guzzler

... so... fucking Monday got me... there's like a 90% chance I won't be making this trip... They're "firing" a co-worker of mine in another section, and I'm being charged with taking over... or so the rumor says... and since the section is broke, the section has been assigned 12hr shifts 5 days a week, but with 24hr coverage (so a couple people have to work weekends) until it's fixed... and that's NOT going to happen before Memorial day. don't know when I'll find out... but FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK!

So basically I get fucked over because of her incompetence... 5.5 more years... 5.5 more years.

is what it is... I've had 14 years to get used to it, I'm just having a... Monday... there's still a chance, so I'll keep this thread updated for ya'll, but I'm not going to weigh in on any group decisions. if I make it, I'll go along with what ever ya'll decide.

I just got done viewing the aerial imagery of the trail. 99% of it looks to be on established county roads, with a small ~1.25 mi section where U19RD ends and crosses over to meet up with S17RD that is "off the beaten path". Doesn't look bad at all.

Keep in mind that local towns decided to open up the roads to ohv use for this trail. I don't expect it to be too much. That being said, local groups asked the municipality not to fix sections as that is what makes the challenges we enjoy...take that how you wish but I think the old paradox may be more difficult especially with the route finding it requires

Who's all still thinking about taking this route?
@odomandr you have a time estimate for the trail? I don't think it'll take longer than a days drive.
@3378jakesr5 you still up for it?

I will reach out to the person I was told rode it recently one day this week. I just started a new job and I am going to be busy for a bit. I got this time approved before I accepted the position though...

So I'm definitely out. I was able finagle the 27-29th off(guilt tripped them since my GF only gets these days off)... but have to work 12hrs on the 30th, then get the 31st to the 5 off (because I already had leave approved for those days)

I'll be living vicariously through you guys!
