What I'm currently dealing with. Waiting for the wife to get home so I can take the spindles to a shop to get new wheel bearings pressed in and hopefully they can get the two sheared bolts out too. Have to get it all back together by the 8th.

I sold it back in July of 2014 to a local dealer. I have been really surprised I have not seen it pop up on any of the forums I visit or on Instagram.
That would be awesome if I could at least see it again. I miss the hell out of that truck.

Yeah, I'm jealous of you 2nd gen guys and your bolt on wheel bearing/hub assembly.

1st gen wheel bearings have to be pressed into the spindle itself.

How many people have a winch that are going on this trip?

I have a 9.5k winch with 100ft of cable, snatch blocks, 50ft of chain, 60ft of tow strap and a few other odds and in to getting unstuck

My winch cable is sketchy. I consider it a last resort

Cool. I am on the fence about buying a winch before the trip but I am not ready yet and I would not really have time to install it before.

Yup, it's a lot to spend on something that rarely gets used.

You know what else hurts? Getting hit by a steel cable that snapped.

Yeah all you have to do is not stand by the cable....and I'd rather risk the cable snapping than leave a vehicle somewhere to wait on someone else to tow it out

If you ever managed to snap a synthetic line... it would hurt just about as bad. Anything traveling at that high of a speed hurts. I got whipped by a waterski rope that snapped once on my chest. That killed.

Synthetic winch line doesn't store energy in it, so when it snaps it doesn't go flying. It just falls to the ground
