That Ecoboost motor is a ridiculously good motor. Everything in Ford's inventory is using some form of that boosted motor. I wish there was an option such as that for this truck. I have the 4.0 in my 2014 and although it is not lightning fast, it pulls quite well and with no issues. No complaints except little ones here and there. You are right about the resale value!

I may change my mind down the line. I know that power is there on the ecoboost. I drove the 3.5 just for grins and giggles and was very impressed on that front. The turbos make me nervous and I think the gas mileage vs the V8 may be a little over stated.

The Ecoboost motors have been out for 4 or 5 year s now, One of my best friends is a tech at my local Ford dealer. He says has never seen one come in with major problems. And I NEVER claimed the F150 held value like the Tacoma. On the contrary, I was amazed at how much the dealer offered me for my Tacoma when I traded it in this past Friday. Invoice on my Tacoma was $38,300 and they gave me $37,000 off the vastly discounted F150 price. I was well pleased with the deal. I considered the 5.0 but BOTH the Ecoboost motors outperform the 5.0 in acceleration AND fuel mileage. And the 3.5 Ecoboost will out tow it by quite a bit. I think with regular maintenance I will get good longevity out of this truck...

That's bad ass! I flew for about 10 years and got out. Best mission set in Army aviation in my opinion. I miss the heck out of it!

Well all I've got to say is, show me one vehicle that gets the mileage it says it gets. They test these vehicles in conditions that are not normal.

You said your 2.7L Ecoboost will run and hide from any truck except a 3.5L ecoboost? lol then please stay away from a Hemi Ram as you'll go home with your tail between your legs.

That said, it sounds like a mid-size truck wasn't for you. Glad you got a truck that fit your needs.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Ford putt the 3.5 eco in their trucks since 2011. So it's pretty well tested. Actually I'm surprised yiu wouldn't have seen your comment as more appropriatly attributed to the new 3.5 in the 2016 Taco.

    Just sayin...

Or simply the 5.7L Tundra. That truck hauls freaking ass. I'd like to see an ecoboost keep up with that beast of a motor.

If they're replacing the 6.2 in the Raptor with a new 3.5 ecoboost and say it will have more than the predecessor's 411 hp, then I don't think the ol' 5.7 is going to beat it in power or economy. Only in durability and longevity.

Well, if you ask me.. That's what matters haha. At least for me, I don't tow anything big or care too much considering my truck now only gets 14mpg. So I'll take the durability.

Oh I totally agree on the priorities. I'd take a Tundra over a Ford any day. I thought the comparisons were talking about power though.

Only, lol. It's probably just me, but I don't understand building a truck that anyone would be too afraid to tow or take on a little dirt. Just my two cents though.
