Please take me off the GB for unforseen financial reasons. Thanks

There used to be a black list... All those who backed out of group buys got put on it and weren't allowed to participate in other GBs... Lucky XXXX isn't around anymore otherwise youd all be crucified to the thread

I agree if people commit and back out the following week and its a trend. In the case of this group buy I absolutely do not thing that would be fair to black list.

There are many on here that jumped at this opportunity back in February. I believe it was announced in March that purchases would begin the first week of April. It is now May and only two groups have gone. We all, including CVT, expected the Summit series to be arriving in April. Due to unforeseen issues on CVTs end everything has been pushed back over a month and MANY on here, including myself are SOL for trips that have already been planned due to these delays.

Things happen in business, good on CVT for catching these errors and correcting them. As far as guys dropping out, that is to be expected when they can't have what they need. Would you rather these guys not take care of their families or cancel vacations?

No I would not rather that... But don't get in on the group by if you need the money... Granted I have been making payments on my tent... And my last payment will be made on the 15th but I also have the money sitting in my account not needed to be soent but there incase something with the truck comes up. Living within your means most likely shows that some of the guys couldn't really afford to spend the money but wanted a spot on the GB because they were scrapin the bottoms of their pockets for change...

    Thata all I am saying...

Don't put yourself in a jam for a stupid tent just as Bobby has said multiple times... Hes not going anywhere any time soon. And neither is the group buy.... Itll just be ALOT smaller next time

Can't rush perfection... Plus Bobby thought with him having 400 tents in stock that hed be able to get them out and everyone happy earlier but all the options and people wanting the unreleased colors put a damper on things for themselves... Its not CVTs fault I picked a color that hasn't showed up yet... Its mine... And he can't give a true timeline because he isn't driving the boat to get them here. They are on a huge freight liner heading to the west coast and then they get trucked in

So I just went back and found CVT's response...I am good now, excuse my comment as I thought we were still waiting on a response! I completely missed that at some point I guess!

I mean regardless, this has been a long wait. Everyone probably had the money back in February, but things come up...life doesn't wait for group buys.

I can say that making payments would probably help lots of people. If this was a known option more people would probably go this route.
We have to understand that there are some people that just "sign up" for anything even if they've got no money just to see how big the discount would be. In my case, my main daily driver left me stranded on the side of the road recently (electrical problems) and my backup (Tacoma) shredded two tires within two days. This has caused a $2000 repair bill to fix them both. I've been trying to shuffle money around but like to keep myself a security blanket of funds for the oh crap scenario. I've been wanting a tent for a long time now (since I sold my last one) but having spent $3500 in the last week hurts.

The TLDR of my post is that I unfortunately have to back out of the group buy until lady luck is finished bending me over and ramming pineapples up my ass.

I don't really think it was an option so much as I wasn't going to just give them 2000 dollars 2 months in advanced but wanted to lock in a tent so when it shows up I can pay the remaining balance

I just wish it was an option. If it was, I'd still be in this.

You guys are missing the point of the so call 'blacklist' concept. It is/was an effective tool when GB participation (a minimum number of commitments) was contingent upon the group getting a certain level of discount. That is not the case in this GB. Someone dropping out will have no impact on what you get out of this GB.

    Basic overland stuff...
I paid Bobby a $500 deposit yesterday. Not as a payment plan but as a show of commitment to purchasing a tent.

Everyone that's complaining about the wait... Well, vote to bring high quality manufacturing back to the ole USA. Bottom line, these have a 3-week boat ride and another week of port to CVT.

These guys appear to be a small business and like most want pre orders prior to dumping a ton of cash (or most likely credit) into orders.

I find no fault in the wait... It's part of the 20% discount.

Just use your security blanket funds for the RTT, and a credit card or other credit if an Oh Crap moment arrives later.

    Enjoy the moment now.
