First tires I had on my 02 ranger were the original BF KO's in a 33x12.50R15. I didn't realize how bad they were until they wore out and I switched to the Cooper STT's in the same size. Despite all the good reviews, the KO's were scary in the rain and had very poor traction in snow/mud. As I recall I got very few miles out of them.. I felt that there were some serious flaws with the tread pattern so i am surprised that people with the KO2's like them so much considering the tread isn't so different. But maybe they really have made some improvements.

Looks like they don't sell the STT's anymore and went to the STT Pro, but the tread was similar to the Toyo open country MT. Those tires were fantastic, loads of grip in the snow/mud as well as excellent wet road manners. I remember purposely hitting standing water on the road to remark at how well they displaced water. They also far outlived the KO's.

I have also run the AT3's on several vehicles. They ride quiet, have very good resistance to hydroplaning and actually do pretty well in the snow/mud/loose stuff. Just don't expect them to be as good as something like the STT's or Pros. I can also confirm their 55,000 mile tread life.
To me the ST Maxx looks like the perfect compromise between a mud terrain and all terrain. Considering the good experience ive had with cooper tires I don't think u could go wrong with the Maxx's say over the KO2's or even the AT3's for what its worth.

I've never run the K02, but I do know that while in Moab last year one of the trucks we were with had K02's and my truck had ST Maxx. We traveled over the same terrain and the K02's some nasty cuts and a bit of chunking although they seemed to perform well otherwise. My ST Maxx came out looking about the same as they went in. I've had the ST Maxx in 265/75/16 and now 285/75/16. Awesome tire

I'm really confused why everyone says Duratracs are no good, weak sidewalks, heavy, loud. The majority of people who say this must have not run them.

If you peer into the wrangler world, so many people run them. Run them hard. Off-road they are better performing than the new and old KO2's as well as the ST Maxx

If you watch the videos he posts you will see he drives the shit out of this tire

I just saw 255/75/17 tires on tread depot. The Cooper STMaxx is to be had in a C load rating along with the stt Pro in a c rated tire. This size on tire caculator shows that it is 32 in diameter.

53 lbs is says for the Maxx in C load 255/75/17 and 31.77 diameter. Might as well get the KO2 265/70/17 which is lighter. The 255/80/17 E load has a 32.8 diameter and only ways 51 lbs. Doesn't make sense to me.

I had the last generation KO'S. Worst tire I've ever owned. Looked cool ...until I realized how poor they performed .

I am thinking about getting a set of these in a 265/75r16 for my 2016 trd off road do you know what the wheel width was on the wheels that you ran this size tire on and how did you like them , was there any tread squirm on the highway.

I ran a 8" wheel. No noticeable tread squirm but I'm not a aggressive driver.

What size tire are you running and is your truck lifted? did you have to do any trimming? do you have any tire rub at full lock and articulation. Info would be greatly appreciated. Nice looking truck.
