It is technically a couple of mm too large, but I managed to squeeze it in and get it wedged in such a way, that it hasn't come out since I've made this thread :)

What does DCLB stand for in your description of your 2016 TRD sport 4X4? Just curious

It doesn't look like they are going out. They are dimming because you normally turn your headlights on at night and don't want the dash lights to be so bright. This is normal on this and... pretty much every vehicle on the road.

They dim enough so I cannot see any of the buttons. So there is no way to brighten them up?

Twist the button that you use to reset the trip odometer.

There may be a setting in the head unit somewhere... otherwise I'd just use your headlights at night and the DRL's during the day. That's what they're there for.

new Massachusetts law states if your windshield wipers are running then headlights must be on or you get ticketed. new law last year.

If they were completely off though it would be completely black. We can see the touch buttons in that pic, so I would think you could see them if it's raining since it won't usually be very bright out at the same time.

Can anyone confirm if the LEDs auto dim when opening and closing the door? I want to retain this feature and dont want LEDs if they are instant on/off.

Specifically, I am interested in SuperBrightLED.com leds that were recommended by the OP. Looking for confirmation that they do (or do not) dim like the stock incandescents.

Best law ever, been in NC for decades but we have so many from out of state they are unaware of it. Makes you very visible to others. Wish it was nationwide and on every vehicle. Now if we can get the 10% that don't turn their headlights on at night ...... :)

I picked up a new 2016 SR5 on 4/28/16. The OEM map lights were too dim. I read everything that I could find on line and at Tacomaworld. I went with Superbrightleds.com and ordered the WLED-WWHP5: Warm White, at $5.95 for the pair. They are bright, but with warm light spectrum, about 3,000K, which is pleasing to the eye. They do not project the annoying sterile bluish-white that tends to washout the visible human light spectrum. I ordered a dome LED lamp, 3110-W10-CB: White 31mm, from Superbrightleds.com for $4.95 plus $2.99 shipping. But, it does have that bluish-white color temperature of 6250K. I chose them because they of all the negative comments from others who tested and tried other brands. I have dealt superbrightleds in the past and I dealt with them last year when I was building a forensic alternate light source and needed LEDs of a specific wavelength.
