Yeah at some point. I am just testing the waters. I am getting closer but still a ways out. Once I build both axles Id say its still at least a year out. Shit cost too much damn money

Yeah I'm gonna have to start wrenching on the bike more. I kinda of just take it there every other month and have them do a look over on it and keep the chain adjusted. I have all the tools and bike stands in the boxes still, have just been extremely lazy and know next to nothing about wrenching on bikes. Guess it's time I get back on the ZX forums and learn some more shit. Although I was just talking with the wife today and she agreed I should pay off the bike, sell it, and get the Yamaha Raider. So that might be happening in the next month or two.

Damn, I JUST picked up a Ford 9" with intentions of that gear size and ARB. Halfway glad you waited till now to post up or I'd have swooped lol, but almost wish you had so I wouldn't have had to spend so much for a 9" lol

    Check out the build
It's easier if you have a press and an extra set of hands.

Press and the right size sockets to drive the u joint out.

    Claw puller for the CB.

The hardest part for me was doing it alone righting the bolts on mating ends. Those bolts are a pain in the ass.

    1. Take a paint pen and mark your axel location. At each end and at the carrier bearing.

    2. Undo the bolts at each end and CB.

    3. Axel should drop. The ends may need some help from a rubber mallet.

    4. Remove the center u joint.

    5. Remove the retaining nut.

    6. 3 claw the CB out.

    7. Press a new CB in.

    8. Torque and stake but

    9. Install u joint. (Preferably a new one)

    10. Install axel back in line with marks from step 1.

That's probably what it is. That's exactly what it feels like. Like I said its not a big deal. I replaced the carrier cuz I had excessive play. More then MJs and my truck has only 55,000 while his has over double.

I'm doing my brakes this weekend and I might just do wheel bearings while im in there since I have them.

    Nothing went that easy....

I drew a line but when I went to put the shaft back on it was off by a millimeter on the back holes. I must have been one spline off when re attaching the yoke. Hopefully this wont cause vibes at high speeds.

For some reason Nick was having issues with things that weren't suppose to be issues at all LOL. After taking off the bolts for the drive shaft, the drive shaft is suppose to just come off the diff right? Nope. Had to hit it several times with a mallet (the rear more so than the front). Also, taking the yoke off to get to the CB, it's suppose to come off right after you take out the u-joint right? Nope. Had to pound that shit out with a mallet several times as well.

I was going back and forth helping Nick and @SeekingZero with his truck and every time I help Ben it sounded like Nick was pounding together the damn transcontinental railroad in the garage

Got big old blisters on my hands from that. My upper body was so sore after Saturday. Then sunday I did my 85 mile bike race. MY whole body feels like I got hit by a truck...
