Pretty sure lots of people have cut theirs down. If I recall correctly, Husky sells shorter ones also.

Maybe I'll try to cut them down and if I screw it up I'll look into shorter ones.

I'd just cover them with painters tape, draw out your pattern, cut the pattern out of cardboard so you can transfer it exactly to the other side, then use tin snips to cut the mud flaps. At least that's how I'd go about doing it.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
OR - just take them off??? If not take them off, place one on top of the other to trace out the pattern to cut them

I liked them because it kept the truck cleaner and stopped the side steps from filling with snow and ice from the front tires in the winter. My Ferd didn't come with them and I actually bought aftermarket ones. I like having rears also because it helps protect anything I tow. Personal preference, but I think they do their job.

that's how I did it when I had my 09 and if you're going to wheel it might as well just take them off because you're going to rip them off anyway

Invest in and install a lift kit vs trimming the mud flaps...

Yep, lift kit is definitely easier.

I thought Asians were supposed to be good at figures...

I cut mine. I only took about 3" off though. Cut em with tin snips then hit it with the finishing discs. Looks factory

    Good at calculation, not logic.
Pretty sure Americans are much better at that than Asians.

Me neither. That's clearly a functional truck. The owner obviously made it so he could clean his gutters from the bed of the pickup. It's a safety feature really.
