Just googled R+L=J. Totally blew my mind and that shit makes sense. My 3 favorite living characters could all be related

 

Well now let's see how I can do this without being a complete spoiler for the unsullied...

R+L=J is a theory about Jon's parentage. It posits a theory that Jon is not in fact Ned's bastard son at all, but in actuality he is the legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister) which would make him the rightful king of Westeros.

 

Next episode is called Oathbreaker isn't it?? Generally their titles have a double meaning. This one probably relates to Brienne since her sword is named Oathkeeper, and Jon because his death released him from his oath to the Night's Watch. Now he can leave Castle Black and fuck ramsay with a sandpaper dildo.

Anybody have a favorite character who isn't a main character? Mine is Tormund Giantsbane. He is the ginger bearded wildling who lives solely to fuck peoples shit up. He is the one who comes in with the giant on the last episode and the one who smashed the lord of bone's head in at Hardhome before the walker horde.

Is Davos considered a main character? If not then I like him, don't know why tbh ha

 

I don't know. I feel like he's kind of a supporting character. I think he and Tormund will both become much more important with Jon back. He needs Tormund as his military badass and Davos as an advisor.

 

He's the new orbitz commercial guy too

 

What a dynamic actor. Lol

 

I love me some Rickon Stark. They give a 3 year old a wolf and are just like "Here, make it behave". Then everyone seems shocked when they both end up being wild little animals lol

 

Oh I also love the book version of the Martells. Both Oberyn and Doran were awesome in the books. Oberyn was just a badass plain and simple. Doran in the books was much more pragmatic and calculating than his show counterpart. His quote about he and Oberyn is enough to show he was not the weak complacent ruler they depict him as in the show. "Oberyn was ever the viper. Deadly, dangerous, unpredictable. No man dared tread on him. I was the grass. Pleasant, complaisant, sweet-smelling, swaying with every breeze. Who fears to walk on the grass? But it is the grass that hides the viper from his enemies and shelters him until he strikes."

 

Oberyn was my favorite character. I guess he still is, just dead. That fight was epic and I hadn't read the books so I had no idea what was coming. I didn't sleep that night out of sheer shock. I still see his death sometime and cringe.

On that note - that giant guard dude is The Mountain, right?

 

Yeah. Still smashing heads this season.

 

My roommate said he had Joffrey's head but I don't recall them talking of that

 

Don't think he does in the book. He is technically not revealed to be the mountain at all. His name is Robert Strong. It is obvious he is the resurrected mountain as he is massive, and Qyburn, the guy who keeps the mountain's dead body around, brings him in.

There is a fan theory that The Hound is still alive and he will come to fight the Mountain at some point. The hound was always set on killing his brother. He hates him.

 

I'm right there with Tormund and Davos being my two favorite characters at the moment. Jon will need every bit of their support to rise back up. I'm real interested to see if Jon has a different perspective after death. I mean the dude was out for a few days and had to have some enlightenment. It's possible he knows his true lineage as he wakes from his slumber. Shit, maybe he worged into Ghost when he died as a placeholder until he was resurrected and doesn't know much of anything.

What I want to know is WTF is going on with Lady Stoneheart and will we see her this season if at all. With the Riverlands stuff coming up, I'd sure hope so, but that may be too much storyline for the TV.

All I know is the show is great right now!

 

I believe the hound isn't dead. If the show doesn't show a dead body, they most likely aren't dead. The same thing goes for Stannis. Although in his case, it is probably more likely he is dead since Brianne wouldn't have left him alive and the last thing we saw was her swinging her sword and then black. So, he probably is dead. But there is a small chance.....very small...

 

I think he was Ghost in the interim.

 

He will have lost something in death. GRRM says that his characters don't happily awaken. However, Maester Aemond, the old Targaryan dude at the wall once told Jon to "Kill the boy so the man can live." Perhaps boy Jon is gone and it's time to kill the other boy, Olly. Fuck Olly.

He can't have warged into ghost. Only full Starks can warg south of the wall (or at it). Assuming his true lineage is not full Stark, no chance. People often theorize that Ned is still alive though. That he warged into an animal just before his beheading.

I'm willing to bet his true lineage will be revealed soon. It may take a few more episodes though. They will at least hint heavily.

 

Stannis is dead. Ramsay confirmed that they have his body.
