    I'd keep pushing the warranty issue with corporate. Burden of proof is on them to show you violated warranty. Think you should get a rental from dealer, make sure you do burnouts in it daily, also use all of the washer fluid before turning back in. Siphon gas out of it too if they don't require it returned full. E-brake the shit out of it, donuts

    They are saying it's not a warranty claim.because it's not a failure of the truck or anything. They're sayings it's outside influences, and as such won't give me a rental... I just paid 560 this morning at enterprise for a rental

    Time for a second opinion. Smells like some BS. No way I'd involve insurance until you have exhausted every warranty option with corporate

    Let me set you straight. The truck was not swamped with sea water. I had water hit the rims, and it kicked up. It was not a concerning nor significant amount of water, and the truck ran for about 5-10 minutes after just fine. They ruled out any water intrusion or water damage.

    Yea. That 4 runner is doing way worse than I did with my truck and Toyota isn't standing behind their product

    Unfortunately they could simply 'place' sand in a 'failed' component and claim abuse to get out of their warranty responsibility.

    In my opinion, (by reading the OP's side) it sounds like they don't really know whats wrong with it, so they're reaching for answers and hinting its not a Toyota problem.

    They did admit that they are not familiar with this trucks engine and systems yet

    Epic BS man. However I don't think warranty work comes out of dealer pocket. No incentive for them to lie from a profit standpoint. They actually make money from corporate on warranty work.

    What is their proposed fix? I haven't seen a suggestion from them yet.

    What do they think an insurance claim would do if they don't know how to fix it in the first place?

    I can't believe they are saying somebody opened your gas cap and poured sand down it. I hope you are getting all this in writing.
