Ride quality aside, unless you like stupid problems and seals looser than a hookers pussy, just wait to find some used brand name shocks and freshen them up. FOA should be POS, I had their bumps on an old truck and they were a complete joke, they would stick shut, id find shavings inside, and one blew the cap out of the body...

ps here's a great deal on some sweet bypasses for anyone in need

Hey guys, I'm starting the rear LT of my truck tomorrow. I need any info you can and or pictures would help too. F67 pack, triple bypass kings, 12" shackle, t100 trussed axle. My main concerns are:

    1. Exactly where I need to mount the front spring hangers

    2. Then 52.5" from center of hanger eyelet. But is it to the shackle hanger eyelet, or to the shackle hanging? My guess would be to the hanger (above frame).

    3. Best way to set my pinion angle on the axle

    4. Being a t100 3rd member, does it need to go back a hair or will the slip yoke accommodate

    5. What should I do first after the springs are hung? Axle, shocks tacked to axle, upper shock location mount to cage, then cage?

Got the next five days. Please let me know if I'll need anything or any info you can shoot my way. Front LT is holding up fine but this is a whole different animal. And I mean ANIMAL. LOL.

    Front.....

Hey Khris I appreciate the compliment! The truck has come a long way since you saw it at the Chino Valley to Jerome run haha. I followed the build of the race truck, I love how it came out!

Funny you mention those tubes, I am still working on the cage and added these tubes over the last two days. I ran one from the piece of tube that ran through both shock mounts, down to the top of the frame. Then added the tube from the c/o mount to the front where the X is.

I'm also going to run one from the tube on the outside that runs into the a-pillar down to the frame where the cab cage hits (red), and one from that to the shock mounts (green) if I can get it to clear. 49ae22e93260925eb5929e80ffd3c66a_4c694f5033f03dcbefcb611617bea48db525cfbf.jpg

The whole truck is 1 1/2" X 0.120 DOM (I know I know, it will never work) so I hope I don't run into that same issue but if you see where I might change anything I'm open to ideas.

You know, I saw the username but didn't even remotely think it was the same truck! LOL that's rad!!!! And yes, looks like you 100% got it covered perfectly with those tubes! I personally don't think you'll have any issue building with the 1.5" DOM. Looks like you've got it handled great! You're going to be stoked on how well that thing works once you get it dialed in. Overall it looks REALLY similar to ours and mine still continues to blow my mind.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it. I'll post up some action shots from the Prerunner Invasion next weekend. Hoping I can get done a couple days before and do a shakedown run near my house but that's asking a lot.

T100 third is the exact same as a tacoma third. You man need to shorten the drive shaft it anything due to shaft plunge.

Once the springs are on. Set the pinion angle. Then you'll need to start the shocks. Cycle the axle to figure out your bump height and then you can figure out your top and bottom mount of the shock from there. Build the moints and cycle cycle cycle. Guessing your running 16s so you'll end up strapping the axle as well

Could always move axle back an inch to help with shaft plunge, worked in my 1st gen.

Yeah I'm in Michigan. I took a job at the Chrysler Proving Grounds doing transmission calibration on the 9-speed auto back in 2011. I'd like to get back out to the Southwest in the next few years, working my way up into management to open up my options to other areas of vehicle development rather than being stuck in powertrain/ SE Michigan.

I haven't told you you're a badass lately so I'll do that now. Appreciate the input. Is the 52.5 from spring hanger eyelet to the shackle eyelet on top of the frame or to the shackle bottom portion that hangs?

If you need any measurements I can help you out. We copied my exact front and rear hanger on another truck and it worked out good. At full droop I do run out of slip yoke so I'd move it back .5-1". Also 53" cycled better for me and others I've known

Best way to get the spacers out? They put 1.5 ones instead of 1.25.

Lol same. But these things are like freaking welded in. I tried getting something from the inside with a hammer and tap around the edges but they will no budge. Brand new though
