I've tried it here at home. Never had any action on it. It's basically the same thing when we're throwing plugs out there. Most of the time were throwing big jointed rapalas. The majority of the hits we get from the monster Browns are when we pause retrieve and the lure floats to the top. You can't see anything, you just hear it and try to rip a lip.

YES! It seems like only the bigguns chase the mouse patterns.

Yeah it definitely brings the big fish up... But it's not a high percentage game though!

That night, we probably had over a dozen toilet flushes and that was the only hook up. Going to tie up a few morrish mouse flies with a stinger off the tail to see if that bumps up the percentage.

These are small compared to what we're chasing in Arkansas.

That is much more exotic than the small mouth and large mouth I am used to catching. I am going to Key West in June and have a half day booked for bonefish on the fly. Hopefully I will be able to put some pictures up here.

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
Hot summer afternoons on the Chattooga fishing for Red Eye Bass. Drift a foam popper over the dark, deep water, slow moving pockets. It's fun to have those little suckers come shooting up out of the darkness to slap the crap out of your fly. They are extremely fun to bring in.

You're gonna love it. And want it all the time. A little one to two pound bone will bend an 8 wt. rod damn near in half.

This one is a bit bigger than a two pounder, though. Bahamas. I've never fished the Keys. Some day I would like to get there.

NIce. My warm water fishing consists of going to the local lake and and catching bass and panfish.

Im hoping to do some carp fishing this year though

I take a yearly trip to the Keys to fish with some friends. Every year I see tons of parrot fish and have tried many times to feed them a fly. Last week I was able to scratch parrot fish off the list. If anyone has a consistent formula for catching these please let me know.

Any tips/advice on fishing carp. I went out to the local lake after work tonight to try to find some. No luck. I spent a good 45 minutes walking around trying to find one. Seems like the only time I see em is when Im not looking for them.
