Should really pick a part of this list first: 4x4 conversion, lockers, armor, shocks/suspension

 

I would say do the conversion first if you are serious. All those other components will be useless if you buy all that stuff then go for the conversion. You will have to buy all new stuff compatible For the 4x4.

True, I'm still going back & forth on the conversion.... probably because currently don't have a money flow coming in so. I definately have the money for it now, just want to justify it 100% first you know . Definately agree with you there though, the only thing I may do before a conversion is sliders perhaps....

 

Slowly start collecting parts for it. It'll take awhile to get everything for a conversion. Once you have everything then save up for any last minute parts you'll need to pay top dollar for, then rip into it

 

Yep I hear ya. Sliders are definitely a good starting point for your situation then imo. I used to have a 99' pre-runner. And even though I would mob that yota a lot of places people said 2wd could not go. I can't tell you how big of a world changer it is once I got a 4x4. I would never own another truck without it now. I used to wonder with my pre-runner what would be easier? Sell that truck and just buy a 4x4 or do the conversion? A big deciding factor for me was I do not have to much mechanical skills....and the fact that my girlfriend got rear ended in it and got it totalled out ....Turned Out To Be A Blessing In disguise though.
