heres my 95 tacoma automatic with like 195k miles on the mustang dyno. its all bone stock engine has a bad cat also brand new 31x10.5 toyo mt tires. made 113.2 whp at 4700 rpm and 142 tq at 2300 rpm.

only thing ive hanged different on it so far is got a new high flow cat which i notice a difference and a k&n air filter also cut my airbox so more air gets into it. havent been back to dyno it since

Nice torque at very low rpms.
You have that really neat long runner intake manifold with an individual port for each intake valve. I wish it was possible to put one on my 2012.

Hey Tooter, I'm interested on an Injen intake for my 2014 4 cyl. Does the same intake fit 2005 thru 2015?

    Thanks

He hasn't posted in quite some time. He did say many times how much he enjoyed the engine's improvements in torque, with that header.

    Hey guys. :)

I've been busy working on other projects, so I'm not making spacers. I don't see any reason the Injen intake wouldn't work on any 2TR FE because it clamps directly onto the throttle body throat, and only has one mount.

    IMG_7181_zps966dbf90_9f5a8b7cea291a047e123101b04971bbe7988572.jpg

Near the bottom of the pic directly under where the intake tube takes a 90 degree there's a little black rubber button. That's the shock mount for the intake. It's the only point of attachment for the intake. This is a really LONG intake... about three feet long. And man oh man does it make a neat sound when you get on it. :)

    I agree. :)
The LCE folded long tube header is the best bang for the buck 2.7 mod. When I dyno tested the header, it lowered the torque peak by 650 rpms down to 3,150 rpms.

(this dyno chart is just the header alone, no intake spacer and no Flowmaster muffler)

Actual proof that the product works as advertised. Good to see this as I had been looking at them when they came out but I didn't believe that LCE was accurately providing the dyno figures.

The factory torque peak for the 2TR is verified by Toyota to be 3,800 rpms.
My own test results for the long tube LCE header are 3,150 rpms.
Doug Thorley's own dyno testing results for their short tube tri Y header shows a torque peak of 4,000 rpms.

Short tubes = more top end.
Long tubes = more bottom end.

Found a DT dyno chart that's a good reference for a bone stock 2TR FE 2.7 engine.

    Stock:
    119 hp @ 4,600 rpms
    132 tq @ 3,800 rpms

    Mine:
    138 hp @ 4,600 rpms
    162 tq @ 2,800 rpms

Compared to their stock engine dyno results, mine produces 19 more horsepower at the same rpms... yet 30 more ft lbs of torque at 1,000 less rpms. This is because I didn't mod my engine for top end horsepower, but rather for maximum low end torque.

This is 23% more torque... at 26% fewer rpms.

Where did that come from, I've never seen torque curves like that, something ain't right. And an increase of 65HP @ 3000?

It was previously posted on Tacomaworld.com and I couldn't find the original source. The lack of accurate reference suggests it was just being used for advertising purposes and had been removed by the original source... likely LCE, as it shows LCE beating both Doug Thorley and stock, which it does, but not like that!

It is the old LCE dyno curves I remember them well.

Thanks for the confirmation. :) It came up on a random google image search.
They could just as well have used accurate dyno data to make their case. The LCE is a superior low end torque header compared to the DT. My own independent testing proved that.

    @tooter

Did you have any trouble passing smog with the LCE header in CA? It looks almost like stock to the untrained eye, I was thinking of welding studs onto the LCE one to mount the stock heat shield. Thoughts?

How would these mods apply to the 2016 2TR. also did you look at the lce exhaust, pro flow? Any thoughts on it.

Exactly what dean2016 said, because I was just going to pull the trigger and buy one like 10 secs ago lol.. Plus I wanna know if anyone here would recommend switching to an electric fan.. And would it increase anything power wise?? I'm going camping in Yosemite next month and the last time I took my truck up that mountain packed with gear, it was pretty slow..
