I picked up my first bike since I was a teen back in the early noughties. I bought a 2016 Kona Blast hardtail. Does anyone use one of those bed pads for bikes? I haven't had luck using the forum's search function to find any reviews.

Bunches of folks use them. Search here for "Dakine"...it is most popular it seems and should take you to posts about it. There are a coupla other brands of them.

I recently bought a Dakine pad. I really like it so far. I've mostly fixed the backup camera issue by just rotating the pad down more.

Bought myself a Yakima HighLite bike rack off eBay for $130. Super sturdy and works great.

Got onto it for a few hours today. This bike is fast as shit descends like a 200mm dh bike. But pedals like a trail bike. Smashes through rock gardens. I think this bike is as fast through most stuff as bigger bikes.

God damn man that's quite the collection you've had. I've got a nimble 9 that I don't think I'll ever get rid of (unless I get an epo). Would love to ride that wreckoning though!

The nimble's an awesome bike. Im too old and hurt to ride a hardtail off-road anymore but when I did the Nimble was fun. I got alot of love for the canfields and the balance was great but I never got super comfortable on it. The rear felt kinda too flexy for me, which was the exact opposite feeling i've had from any other canfield. One ride in on the wreckoning andim pretty damn stoked, the bike is awesome, its super fast, plows shit yet feels pretty nimble. Rear is stiff as hell too so it tracks chunder really good.

I'd like to add that your race kit in that photo is pretty much amazing. You showed up for in cargo's with what looks like a pullover fleece and some ray bans. Standing in the start gate with a bunch of dudes from the future in pajamas asking "Is there beer and wings at the bottom, whose watching my kids?"

Haha yeah this was from a dual-slalom race that I got convinced to ride in. I was one of maybe two guys there riding on 29" wheels and definitely spent more time drinking beer than on a podium. It was cold as shit so I threw on my hoodie, a commuter helmet, flats and vans and said fuck it. Surprisingly I did okay though given I was way too tall through the berms and had never ridden slalom before. Speaks to the versatility of that bike for sure. Definitely doing it again this year (with less brake lever hopefully).
