Pretty sure that was a deer running across the road at 1:32.

Theres no other road out , people driving in the medians were getting stuck and there are reams of cars abandoned on the side of the road because they ran out of gas

On the news last night they showed a guy that had driven up from Edmonton with a pickup truck full of jerry cans of gas to get people on the side of the road enough gas to keep going south

 

That fire video was scary as fuck. I feel for those people. I COULD NOT IMAGINE!!!!!!

 

My son is a wildland firefighter here in New Mexico, it looks like his crew is leaving tonight or tomorrow for Canada.

 

Now they say the fire is burning so damn hot, only the weather will be able to put it out? W T F !

Watching more and more videos of it, this thing is on an epic scale from hell. Pardon my ignorance but how did it start? Lightning?

EDIT: found it...All that was needed was a spark, and whether it was caused by human error or lightning (an investigation is underway), once the spark was there, the fire became a beast.

Two years ago I almost lost the house I was renting to the King Fire near Tahoe. Missed the first part of grad school because of it, and even had my truck broken into (assholes like to sneak into evacuated neighborhoods and rob people).
I feel for all of these people. If I could, I would be there with a truck bed full of gas, water, and food helping people get the hell out of there so they dont get stuck on the highway. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone up there, and also with all the wildland firefighters too.
