Might be joining the mirrorless ranks soon. Just test-drove a Fuji X-T1 for a couple hours this morning and was suitably impressed. I feel like a solid day of shooting and I'd have it completely figured out. Control layout is incredibly intuitive. Looking for a camera system that will mesh better with my hiking/traveling/wanderlust lifestyle than my Canon DSLR + lenses.

Awesome to hear! My brother (who originally got me into photography), recently transitioned from Canon to Sony. He bought an A7S (does a lot of freelance video work) and is super happy. I've been talking to him about my uses/needs... Played around with an A7 mkII this morning as well, but even while using it, I found myself looking back over at the X-T1 haha

I just moved to the A7R MII...stunning improvement over the A7.

I almost bought the Fuji though...it's really nice.

And by the way...your canon glass will work with the Sony A7 line with an adapter.

Fuji is my favorite choice, well over Sony. Sony is a 3D spec chart. Fuji is an intuitive experience :)

Those of you shooting w/ the Olympus OM-D, what's the largest print size you're seeing before quality loss?

How would that XT1 hold up for landscape work @BuzzardsGottaEat? I am thinking about picking a second hand one up with a couple lenses? It will mainly be used as a compact setup for hiking/camping and traveling for general shooting, but will be used for the occasional landscape work too. Not the Dynamic range of the Sony sensors but I think it should do fine?

Bought into the Canon EOS-M line before I knew anything about cameras. Fire sales on the original EOS-M with the 22mm was too good to pass up, and additional lenses where much cheaper then the other brands.

Looking back, I'd probably would have gone Fuji knowing what I know now. You live and you learn, although I am very happy with what I have.

Hoping that Canon follows through with the rumored prime lens releases and 2 more MILC bodies later this year.

I made the switch from a canon 7d for an XT1 and love it. Mainly used for landscape and outdoors photography. Excellent weight and size for packing into remote locations. I have zero regrets with the purchase. You can see examples of the photos I've gotten with it at http://nwxpdtn.com

Incidentally, I have a Fuji 10-24mm f4 OIS lens for sale if you end up going xt1. :)

I'm on the fence as of now, but that 10-24 would be one id like to have. There is a XT1 at my local camera shop I was gonna go check out and play with a little.

Those are nice photos btw! You find the AF to be pretty fast and accurate with Fuji lenses?

If you go check it out, be prepared to fall in love haha. I found the controls and ergonomics and layout of the camera to be extremely intuitive. Some people say the AF is too slow, and maybe it is for street photography or sports, etc but with my usual subject matter, I haven't found the focus speed to be an issue. I can only recall maybe 2-3 photos that I have taken that have been back-focused. And the focus speed seems very reasonable to me.

The X-T1 is the perfect camera for what you're describing. I've used it all over the US and in a few other countries without a single hiccup or issue of any sort. If you're looking to save a buck and don't care about having the tilty screen, weather sealing, etc. the X-E2 is a cheaper version of it and has the same sensor and processor, so therefore the exact same image quality. Just not as robust of a body. But smaller, lighter and less expensive.

Also keep in mind that the X-T2 should be announced here shortly, so you can either hold out for that OR better yet, keep an eye out for all of the early adopters and buy up and X-T1 when they're selling for less than $500 because of the oversaturated market :D

Still loving my A6000. Looking to upgrade to the NEX7 line up and get into some of the big dog gear. I have a few photos going to print in the next week or so. Ill post those up when I get them back.

Thanks! I gotta have the weather sealed model. I'm pretty hard on stuff, especially camping and hiking. I'm sure the XT2 will be a awesome upgrade but I wouldn't be able to afford it, or justify it. I think the XT1 will suit me just fine and the highly discounted price sounds awesome! You could probably pick up the XT1 with a couple good lenses for the price of a new XT2!

How much of a upgrade is the NEX 7? I don't really follow Sony much. Be looking forward to seeing that print!

Tried out that XT1 today. Really nice camera! Viewfinder was pretty awesome and like how you can split the view to see a zoomed in portion for fine focus control. Probably not gonna pull the trigger just yet. I think I'll wait for the prices to drop just a little more.

People sell them pretty frequently online on Fujifilm X Facebook Groups. There's a gear B/S/T related one in particular. If you're not opposed to used gear, I've seen them going for about $500 typically. I'd sell you mine if the the X-E3 was out yet :D

Hmm, my boss brought in his old photography set up. He did photography for a zoo he worked at and they published/printed his photos on huge banners. He has the first sony/minolta dslr I guess. I didn't look much at the body but he has some old a-mount lenses that are of high quality. He wants $400 for the whole package and would through in his maxxum film camera...which I am also interested in.

    The lenses include:
    a massive tamron 400 telephoto. It's slow at ~f6.
18-70 minolta (looks like a very nice lens and have been looking for something similar)
90mm macro (I am very interested in this, ~f2.8 I believe)
And one other lens I can't remember. Might be the kit lens that came with the body at the time.

I for sure will be picking up the macro lens. Maybe the 18-70 as well. Tempted to just get the whole package, play with everything for a bit and sell what I don't want.
