I need to do this, have a year worth of mud built up in my engine bay, but what do you need to cover or is it not that important?

Finally cleaned up my GPS power wire. I just had it plugged into the power outlet for the longest time, but today I decided to do something about it!

Shit, I dunno. 16 I think? It was a bitch for me because I did all my bending over a brick. If you could replicate it that'd be awesome! I was thinking another cool option would be to have another plate next to it gps for a CB mic.

Hah! When my wife was working 7p to 7 a, she would be out front watering the flower beds in her nightgown drinking a martini at 8 am! Neighbors thought she was crazy so they left us alone....

I ran mine without center caps for awhile until I found some in stainless that were shorter and didn't stick out stupid far like the ones that came with the wheels. I used black caliper paint on the hub centers since I had it laying around.

Not today but a few days ago I had to babysit an Airman doing "hard labor", I figured I'd finally install a project I've been working on. For awhile I've been thinking about putting in dual cameras (rear and forward facing) but the double din I have only had one input and I didn't want to spend the money on a high end system that supported dual cameras or a separate camera system.

First thing I had to find was a camera that could be used both forward and reverse, since reverse cameras are a mirrored image you can't just use a normal back up camera for both. So off to eBay I went, luckily I found EXACTLY what I needed, you choose which mode you want and cut a wire to get the desired effect.

    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181695724541&alt=web

Ended up getting 2 for about $20 shipped.

Once I got them I had to make a switch, I used a dual pole dual throw toggle switch I had lying around (I'll replace it once I find one I like). I also had some extra RCA cables lying around to cannibalise for this project.

    This was the result:

I tested it with a 12v source and TV to make sure it worked, it did! :bananadance:

I didn't take many pictures while installing all this but it's pretty straight forward. I wired mine to the running lights since I leave them on most of the time, this allows me to use the cameras whenever I want, NOT just in reverse.

    Forward facing

    Rear facing

    rear with guides

    forward facing with guides

I may end up moving the front one, not sure if I like it right there. But it works great, I'll be testing it out more over the next few days making adjustments as needed.

Some may not get the point of this, I mainly wanted it for when I'm in tight spots like small parking lots and parking garages, but it might be nice on trails without a spotter. I still need to do some minor adjustments to get them angled perfect and level.

I was thinking about this dual camera option right after installing my rear view camera. Nice feature.
