Just a random question to all those Tacoma-lifers. How long does a truck have to be on the market before there are definitive answers to lift kits? Everything seems so vague about what's good and will work. I was just about to jump on an OME kit last week but was being told to get 885's. Yet there is a chorus of people saying its 887's and then others saying something different...its just getting so gray between the lines. Someone care to shed some light?

Some quick picks before dark. Alignment came out perfect except driver castor, a little out of spec.

Not sure what a double cab weighs, but I weighed mine on race scales in another post and it was just under 4200lbs.

Tires are 265 75r16 Hankook Dynapro ATM. They ride awesome and are silent, P rated yet can support more than the truck can.

5100's all around, fronts set to O, 885's. Rear 1" ToyTec blocks.

Has anyone had the dealership install the leveling kit for the 2016 Tacoma? Results please. It nets 1.5" which is enough for me. Thanks to everyone!

The OME lift specs were posted about 2 pages back. This is what OME is advising for the 2016. Also Toytec does have a 2016 page on their website. All lifts on that page are approved for a 2016 by the manufacturer.

Is this confirmed? Again I spoke with an ARB representative who said that 885's will do the trick and 887's are a wash. (he also mentioend the BP51s are available for the Taco now if you want to drop 3400 USD). Here's my issue though - Practically everyone on this forum that has tried 887s (the OME "recommended" spring for 2016 and up) has reported somewhat significant variation in lift results, and issues with alignment. Hard to believe that OME would recommend something like that especially if our trucks are taller in the front than Gen2s to begin with. I'm not calling anyone incorrect, just calling all of this inconclusive. Feel free to shed some light on this if you got!!

That document that Toytec posted was officially from OME so that is their offical lift list for the 2016. Who did you speak with from ARB? Just curious because I know some people at ARB. I think some of these variations you have to consider the source. Is this right after the truck comes off the jack or after it has been driven for a bit and properly settled. If the 887's are recommended for closer to a 3" lift then alignment will become an issue. UCA's are needed to get alignments back into acceptable areas.

Honestly this is why an adjustable coilover from Toytec has a bit of an advantage. At least you can dial in your lift to a point.

Yeah, I get that, but the 50 mm listed there and results reports by individuals on this forum don't align... I ordered an OME kit with 887's and am concerned the from will be nose high and more than 50 mm lift (after settle)

Sorry I edited my post above a bit. I really cannot say why the variation other then the variations in the install point. The hope would be that OME at least did some controlled installs and from that they came up with the list they are publishing.

You will be noise high if you do just the 885's and nothing in the rear.

Thanks. I am thinking 884s may be the right choice.

If you want to be level I think that's your best bet. Are you keeping the stock shocks or are you changing them out?

I know. I ran 883s and nitochargers on my 2007 4 cylinder. For the price I doubt that you can best the performance.

887 on 0" and nothing in the back. You will be like 1.25"-1.5" nose high. I would suggest 1.5" AAL to level out.
