Thanks, it's quite a step up from the '01 I had. The Pro is a fantastic truck. Only a bit of dirt on it so far, looking forward to getting out & really stretching its legs.

These cooled seats though ... I won't ever be able to have another vehicle without them now!

Upgraded the 4X4 switch to a Tundra switch that illuminates. With a little modification I got it to sit flush. The amber color ain't that bad.

Nice work! How hard was it to make work? Have a part number? What do you think the odds are of switching it to green or white illumination?

All I added was 2 terminal wires to the existing connector that plugs to the switch. Tapped into the HVAC for illuminations.
Hardest part was removing the stock switch. Not as easy as the earlier 2nd gen. For you to get access to the stock switch, have to remove the HVAC, headunit, and the surrounding trim. It was a PITA to do.

There's 3 pretty small led's. If you got some soldering skills I'm pretty sure you can switch it out.

    I may
I may give this a go. What year tundra did it come from? I still want to switch my blank "Tacoma" panel out for one from a 12-14 with a clock too.

NICE. I put 265 75s on my '01 and loved the difference. Not too much, just enough. Did you consider 285s, and if so why'd you opt against them?
It goes without saying, but let's see the pics when it's done!

Well, let me start off by saying, that I'm not a fan of cutting or trimming anything on our Bajas or Pros, too much money spent.

    285's
    PROS- looks
    CONS- $$expensive, cutting/trimming, heavier tire= -MPG, noisier.

    265 75's
PROS- looks, less expensive, lighter tire MPG not affected, not as noisier.
    CONS- none, lol

My biggest deciding factor was the trimming to fit the 285 and weight.

Disclaimer: My post is completely bias with some facts and opinions.:D

I took the truck over to the base Auto Hobby Shop...after two hours the only person working there put one tire on and was in the process of finishing the second...smh. I will pick it up tomorrow. Will post pics once I get it back.

I went with 255/85/16 for ground clearance and no trimming.

Never really looked at that tire size , but for my 80 hwy and 20 off-rd, it wouldn't be practical for my use. It looks good on your rig!, if I may add.

I don't believe just because you have 285's they will always be noisy. I recently had 295 Duratracs AT and now 285 Cooper STT Pros MT.....super quiet. It just depends on the thread and manufacturer. I also did not have to trim anything on my truck to run either set up. That will also depend on your back spacing and offset. Here are a few pics of my set up. 285's mentioned above on 17x8 SCS SR8's

I still get pretty decent mileage, I'm probably about 70-80% highway too. I average roughly 16-18mpg with skids, rock rails, bumper, winch, bed rack, snorkel, etc.

Since you are talking from experience, then you are 100% correct. Yes, noise does depend on the type of tire, the trimming part, from my TW research, just about 99% of 285's have to trim or cut. Maybe not our tacos assuming it has to do with the suspension we have. The tire will be heavier though. Also, I did put a disclaimer stating that my post was bias (265 75 16) since that's what I got. I like your set up, Nice!!

I'm very impressed with those claims and jealous at the same time. Mine are in the low teens, and is mainly stock, except the supercharger, he he. In the winter I've seen drops into the single digits. I don't baby it, so that could be one reason, but when I drive normally, I still don't get near those number, maybe on a long road trip.
