I'm running these. They look like a standard BHLM. I just didn't have the patience to bake my headlights. Only running them untill @LSC15 finishes my retro.

One problem I've had with ebay headlights like this is moisture getting inside. Haven't had that problem with these at all. It is VERY common with Spyder's, just a heads up.

Personally I think they are your best bet for a blacked out housing, the chrome center isn't really as noticeable as you would think, in my opinion.

yea we'll see. even in the install instructions i saw on spyders/ebay lights, they say to add some more silicone before install. for the cheap price, its a risk i am willing to take. keeping the stockers in case anything bad ends up happening.

^ Nice to see Paul trucking along still @HBMurphy . I haven't seen Paul in years as he is a stand up guy.

It all depends honestly on what projector you're using and what options you have inside the headlights. Then are the lights OEM Toyota headlights? What LSC15 is selling is aftermarket headlights and Mini H1 & DS2 Projectors. You simply screw in those projectors using the existing hole. Pretty straight forward with those projectors. The FX-R requires the right work to get them to look organically in the oem bowl. Retrofitting OEM Projectors like the Acura TL/Nissan Murano/Lexus LS460-R is a whole different ball game. When you actually start cutting into the bowl, adding mounting screws, and spending the time to tune the color & light output of the projectors. You'll then find the price to go up in cost as you'll be getting a better set with maximum output. So as you can see, prices can vary in cost depending on what you want.

What I realized when working with a lot of people asking for retrofits is simple. They forget that the importance of getting the headlights is the actual performance & not just on how the look with some halos. You have to find that balance with the performance being as important.

Thanks for the insight:thumbsup:...the poster was looking for budget friendly options as he was going to opt for Spyder projector headlights. With most things in life you get what you pay for and I know @LSC15 puts out a quality product for a fraction of the price he was thinking to get into a set of retrofits for his yota. Just wanted to show him there are other options out there :hattip:

^ Gotcha. I didn't dig far back enough and just saw the recent positing how how retrofits can cost to much. Then yeah, I'd choose an aftermarket set properly done with a set of Mini H1 or DS2 any day over those Spyders. Those Spyders give you no benefit in light output. Then you still have to spend the money to pair it with an upgraded HID kit.

totally understandable guys. Thanks for chiming in with all the info. like i said, not looking for crazy output performance, because if i was, i wouldnt cheap out on headlights. i just wanted to get rid of the chrome since its the last chrome piece on my truck... the plug&play swap is a cost effective way for me to get that done. and as mentioned to RAD, if things go south with the spyders and i am not happy with them, it gives me a chance to send out my OEMs for a true retrofit or blackout, while still being able to drive my truck.

I'm trying to picture what you mean, but am failing horribly.... do you mean you spray painted your slider brackets/frame :notsure:

Yes, the locations where my sliders weld to the frame. The gussets and the places where the frame surface was ground were bare steel. As if we didn't already have a frame rust problem. :anonymous:
