I hired one new employee yesterday. She'll start in a week. I run facilities maintenance for a country club. All in all, still a great job, just have to deal with some people who don't really want a job.

 

damnit i wisk i lived closer i'd seriously consider applying. i've never ubderstood people who want to get paid but don't want to work. or the ones i like best that get hired then complain about how much they get paid HELLOOOOO!! did you hot agree on that when you took this job? it'll all get better at least i'm sure you have a beautiful placeto work

My all time (least) favorite was one I hired a couple years ago. He called in sick on the first day, showed up day 2 talking about the fish he caught the day he was "sick", and asked when he could start taking his vacation time. Needless to say, he washed out in a few weeks.

 

I said "attempt", not even sure what acting my age even means since I don't feel the number. Mostly just don't relate much to most people that are actually as young as I still feel, lol................

 

your more patient than i am but then i've never been a manager. i was fussing at the guy i work with who is late all the time and he said i was too serious i informed him if he were my daughter and working for me i'd have fired her already

Morning all.

 

Gotta do things by the book....Document every infraction and give 3 strikes, or, set myself up to be sued. Often times, I have my mind made up that someone isn't going to keep their job, but I let them work until I have a suitable replacement.

Others get fired on the spot at the moment of infraction. They usually make it VERY easy for me to cut 'em loose.

 

I played youth hockey back in the '70's. (right winger.....Funny how that stuck later in life...) Loved the game but my baseball coach didn't like me getting banged up. And I LOVED baseball.

Exactly a week from now I will be on a big bird going towards Tacoma Mike ; 4 day weekend in New England

Family business to attend too plus a wedding .............and to spoil my Grands

Wife is prepping for COLD weather it might be in the 60's

Even at her age she might remember how to "crack leather" from the musher days
