There is to much technology/options for mirrors these days. Below is a screenshot of a '14 F150. Look at all the options. Manuel/power, dual arms or pedestal, manual or power telescope, heat/no heat, signal lights, puddle lights, with or w/o power fold, smooth/textured or chrome cap. Other cars are worse with auto dim, electrochromatic, blind spot sensing, cameras, lane keep assist, auto tilt etc.
You should hear me trying to get this information out of customers that either never use a feature or places that just bought the vehicle. Then they get mad at me when the part doesn't work because it has the wrong plugs.

I wouldn't mind heated mirrors, though. Don't need the signals and all that auto-dim crap, but my 1993 Grand Cherokee had heated mirrors, for god's sake.

good morning. I saw a fisher cat on the highway along the canal this morning. Sadly it had been run over pretty badass looking though.

 

Straight up legit BS question for everyone.

Do any of you guys, and gal, workout and use any "supplement" to help burn/lose fat? Been hearing about these raspberry ketones thing and wondering if they really work.

I'm not a die hard workout person, but I am trying to get on a routine of doing the P90X Cardio everyday to hopefully shed a few lbs and get a little "leaner", so wondering if that stuff would work/help.

There are some well known supplements that will help you shed a decent amount of water weight in a very short about of time. They come in tortilla form and usually served at low-level establishments such as Taco Bell. Effects can usually be felt within an hour, 3 if you have a strong stomach or have developed an immunity to the supplement. Repeat as necessary to achieve desire results.

I take Performixx SST to help curb my diet and boost my metabolism. Its got a ton of caffeine so I don't drink coffee or soda anymore, like ever. It comes in a powder or pill form. Been on it for almost 6 months now I think. It helps maintain my weight when I travel as well. I also drink something called "EcoDrink" everyday in the afternoon to give me an energy boost and vitamins. Both products I can get at Amazon via prime so its nice since they ship to APO's as well for when I'm overseas.

Interesting... that goes in line with that over-compensation thing eh?

 

Cool. I'll check that out. Don't want all that stuff to help build muscle, not into that. I have a small frame so it would look silly, but defintiely want to lose a few lbs and try to get lean somewhat. Thanks for the input and the info!

 

My '83 VW had heated mirrors and so does my Tacoma!!!

 

Honestly a solid diet and a basic workout plan makes a huge difference. Swapping soda/coffee for water/tea makes a big difference along with eating more veggies and less fatty foods. Carb cutting as well which is what I'm working on. I work out maybe 2-4 times a week at about 30-45 minutes each time, eat minimal carbs if I can avoid it (I love being Asian... rice is a must). Drink lots of water, curb your appetite with a full glass of water before you eat and it'll help over-eating.

Minor stuff like that, a lot of my friends are on the health binge, some crazier than others so I just sit back, watch and learn from their experiences.

 

I don't take any supplements other than Vitamin D (because I'm in a windowless warehouse all day) and a multivitamin. I just eat a lot of lean proteins, fresh fruit & veggies, nuts, and limit my carbs.

 

Straight up answer, IMO: Supplements are mostly useful if you have identified a deficiency in some area (Vitamin-D deficiency for example), there are a couple things I add that help in other areas but fat loss is not a direct benefit (EG: Fish oil high in DHA and EPA, 2000mg or more). Other than that, the best thing you can do in terms of losing weight, now that you've added exercise, is to watch what you're putting into your body and how much. There are MANY diets out there but those are good for short term weight loss and not much more. As soon as you revert back to your old lifestyle, the weight will come back. If you want to drop weight and keep it off, you need a lifestyle change, no diet or supplement will help with that.

 

Nice. Defitniely cut off soda already. And I'm not a coffee drinker so nothing to cut there. All I have is a shot of expresso after dinner but that's about it as far as coffee goes. That P90X cardio is about 45 minutes total. I think it's a good workout for what I am trying to do, but I guess time will tell.

 

Good points. Definitely want to keep it off, so going to try my best to make all the changes and make them part of my lifestyle.

 

Honestly, if you drink your coffee (or espresso) black, it's not going to have an effect on your weight loss plan either way, unless you're drinking a LOT of it. 1-2 cups a day isn't going to hurt.

But, if you load yours up with cream & sugar than you should definitely cut it out.

 

I'd start with keeping a food journal. Write down EVERYTHING that you consume over the course of a week. Be honest, this is for your benefit and if you don't record it, you're cheating yourself. That's going to give you a good picture of what you can realistically cut. Then start putting in good things, loads of leafy green vegetables all day long, lean protein, healthy fats and minimal carbs. Cut out added sugar, fruit isn't bad but limit it, technically vegetables have carbs but the benefits outweigh the negatives, white potatoes are carbs skip them. Bread is generally bad, but if you can find sprouted grain bread (Ezekial bread for example, in the frozen food section) it's a better option.

 

Nope, no cream or anything like that. Just a bit of sugar and that's it.
