I'm telling you the V6 Reg cabs a thing of beauty. A couple of my buddies have them and love them. Even if you can only find one with high millage keep in mind you can find an engine for these things right around 1k dollars. So personally I would not pay the premium for a 140k miles truck or go to a dealer. Those guys are put on this earth to rape you. I've gone to a guy who had his stuff on CL for 4k and walked away paying only $2300. When you got cash, no shame and find a guy whos trucks been on CL for over a month and then some, there is no telling what kind of deal you might be walking into.

This one is a 96', 150k 4wd and he's (dealer) asking $8,950. No available carfax online off their website or autotrader and no pictures of the engine bay or frame. Calling them tomorrow to get more info. If I could pick any truck, it'd be this one. Hopefully the carfax, frame and engine check out!

#2 sounds nice, but in my experience and opinion, that price is ridiculous for that spec, and any 1st gen spec including a 4 banger. As you already essentially indicate in your statement above.

I really like #2. His price is outrageous though. It's a nice truck, but it's not a 10,000 dollar truck. 0f677eab9a47e97309d446452876ef67_74f9254e63a7e2c48c068d987612c1b733256fa4.jpg

Thoughts? I just called about the 96' V6 SC. They said someone was test driving it right then. They are going to send me some pictures of the frame and engine bay, if it doesn't sell.

I feel like I'd be comfortable at absolutely no more than 8 on it. That's after driving it and everything is damn near perfect and zero rust. I hate paying the premium on anything. NADA on it is $6,500. I do know that in SOME cases, that number can go out the window if the vehicle is mint.

There really aren't many super clean, rust free first gens left over here on the east coast. They are hard to find.

If I was going to pay in the 6-8000 range, I think I would like that V6. But do I want the v6 in a single cab? Do I NEED the v6 in a single cab?

Just got off the phone with the dealer with the V6 again, said he'd take 8 cash. So that's his over the phone best. The 98' 4 banger over the phone best (cash) was 10.

Definitely. People act a little different when you start showing them the green stuff. Im really just in a pickle between the V6 or the 4 Banger

That's a nice looking truck but I wouldn't even consider it if $10,000 is his best price.

Ones good and ones great. I really think original truck 1 and 2 sounded awesome. I'd rather have a regular cab than an access cab. Squeaky shitty suicide doors FTL. Those reg cabs are in demand and good ones are rare.

Get the truck that's in better shape with better maintenance. Not like you can tow a lot or race in a 3.4. Might as well have slightly better mpg and a little, easy to work on, bullet proof engine.

For what it's worth, the V6 actually is a single cab. The dealership just sent me a bunch of pictures and the carfax on it too. I don't know. I will let you all know what I decide on when I get it!
