2000 Tacoma Prerunner Ring and Pinion

I really need some help/advise. Im looking to regear my truck to a 4.56 on 33s. Its a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner 2.7L. The trucks data plate says B07A meaning that its a 8 inch diff, 3.91 gear ratio. But i checked it and its wrong it has a 4.10, and A meaning open diff. Does anyone know the exact specs that I need to know in order to buy the correct ring and pinion? Thanks!

(I know there might be a forum like this already made somewhere out there, I've looked and i couldn't, don't give me crap.)

B07A would be 4.30 gears

 

Is your truck an auto or a 5-sp manual?

If it is a 5-sp, there is some ambiguity but if it is an auto, then you have whats referred to as a 8.4" ring gear.

Which side of the diff is the drain plug on? Driver's side or passenger side?

 

^^^yeah thats code is 4.30...id also recommend 4.88's for 33's you wont feel much difference with 4.56's and might end up pretty dissatisfied after the cost of the swap.

You should have an 8.4" rear end unless you have the elock. In that case youll have the 8 inch.

Shit, i meant 4.30! I changed it, dont know why i put 4.10. I was agreeing with you haha then wrote it out wrong.
