I don't hesitate to add them to my list. It is a lengthy one.

Once it comes out I'm sure it will be all over this forum. I doubt it will be a recall.

Same here. My trucks been great. Made in Texas also.

But I checked the ATF myself right after I bought it and was slightly low.

But even before then never had any issues.

I've noticed some roughness in my transmission that I never had in my 2010 Tundra. I got an eye opening surprise last month when traveling in cruise control on moderate incline on an Interstate. The transmission in a blink went from 1900 to 5000 RPM and held it. Though I was surprised, a person with less relaxed/experienced driving style might overreact and lose control of the vehicle.

Mentioned it to the service tec and told him I thought it was dangerous and to record it...got the standard Toyota 'boilerplate'...'never heard of that before'...

    forgot made in Texas..

I was in cruise control last month, had her set at 65 mph and began heading up a relatively steep hill. It was in sixth gear, but jumped to fourth to keep the speed constant. Surprised me a little bit too, as the RPM's shot right up I think to just over 3000, though to be fair my previous truck, a 2010 4Runner, did similar things. I've just attributed the behavior to modern automatic transmissions. Maybe I'm wrong to do that and it's something unique to Toyota.

My truck was also made in Texas, manufactured 12/15. Before my 4Runner (made in Japan), I had a 2004 Tacoma, which was made in California. My buddy has a 2015 Tacoma, I think it was made in Mexico. I have no idea how they determine where they will make their trucks.

My truck is perfect and it can do no wrong... but it does not like stay in 6th gear at high speeds like 75 unless I am going downhill or have a tail wind

But I love my truck and she can do no wrong

Considering your from Canada I'll give you a pass on your ignorant drivel...As for my "weak nerves' I served two combat tours in Vietnam, then spent 20 years in the Metro Fire service working up from a 10 ton wheeling 'Truckie" to high speed 'command vehicle'. My post was a simple observation of an event you are totally ignorant of . Turn off your dummy button..

BTW: My last sports car was a SCCA race '77' 930-02 Porsche. This my friend it takes 'nads' to take that beast to the limit. How much courage did it take direct your ignorance at my simple statement of fact....?

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
My "Logic Update" will consist of buying a TRD OffRoad with a 6 speed manual tranny. This automatic transmission sucks. The End.

My truck shifts fine (when I shift it myself)
It's definitely not Toyota smooth yet. Go drive a new Land Cruiser with the 8spd. Eye opening how smooth and efficient these new transmissions can be when "programmed" right.

That Land Cruiser also has a shit ton more torque to hold all the gears it needs to hold. Tacoma has to constantly hunt because it's torque isn't there.

Dont worry about it I'm over it. It really isn't going to prove anything any way. There is so many factors that play in to it. My truck does great when it's flat and the wind is going in the right direction. Throw in a little wind and rolling hills and I wish I would have bought a manual.

Not happening with mine either. Cruises along 75-80 in 6th, drops to lower gear to ascend a hill, then back up to 6th on the descent.

It does wait a few seconds (5-10 seconds) in the lower gear on the descent before going back to 6th. I guess it just wants proof that we're done going up!

Anyone have the bucking AT? When traveling trying to maintain certain speeds my truck feels a little like a "manual" that's in to high of a gear. It will periodically do it until I mash the gas to get it to shift. That is my problem with the AT.

The manual has beefier rear end ratio too, doesn't it? Probably why the manual will give good pull at low RPM but has to rev out a bit more at freeway speeds. Either way, my 2002 Tacoma revs at almost 2800 RPM's going 75 mph and I get 18 mpg. A manual is still a win for me. Having dealers locate me one now.

I have a manual transmission, but it likes to buck in lower gears unless I am very easy on the gas pedal, even in the proper gear. I don't know if it is a transmission thing.
